ILLINOIS is this whole state corrupt?

Any of you on here move to Illinois and have them tell you that you owe them taxes for years you didn't even live in the state?

Thats what they are doing to me. I am 38 years old and lived in Missouri all my life. Never had lived in Illinois before 2007. They are telling me I owe them for 2003 and 2004..... :confused:...lol. To the tune of over 6 grand! You want to talk about wanting to choke someone!!!! Its not like I lived here and moved away then moved back. I never resided in this state before.

The real bull crap about it is, the burden of proof falls on my wife and I.

Anyone else have this corrupt state government try this on you?

Needless to say, I can and will prove them wrong. Luckily my wife is a federal IRS employee and knows all about tax bull! Its just disheartening for something like this to be thrown in you lap and be threatened with action and have to deal with it. Especially in tough economic times such as these. Talk about guilty till proven innocent. Makes you wonder how much money do they get from people they aren't owed?

I sure hope our next President leaves the Illinois in him behind when he moves to the White House!
 
hey I got a 2 buck refund from them from the year 2001 funny thing was I didn't work in ill in 2001 they tried to tellme I worked in ill in 2001 I worked near lambert field
 
Andy would it be proof enough for them, if you showed them your 2003 tax return? Sounds like a obvious question, but the government never thinks of the obvious...JMO...
 
California did the same thing to me back in 98; it was a total pain in the butt. Too many bureaucrats doing their jobs with blinders on…
 
Andy the sad and real scary thing is, I think Obama is taking half of Chicago with him, to the White House!!!
As far as the tax thing I think they would have to prove that you worked over here. I am sure it would be easy for you to prove that you didn't. To many bureatic loopholes in this stat thats for sure.

NO one was ever appointed to anything, via their conversations.
It's kinda like Wimpy asking for a hamburger and he will gladly pay you Tuesday!! But you don't give him the hamburger, but later on, when you are in a jam and you ask him for help...and he tells you "NO" and then Wimpy proceeds to tell you, "Now, I bet you wish you would have given me the hamburger, when I ask for a handout, don't you"?
What comes around goes around! Old Boy Roy didn't play nice to Obama and fall into line and appoint whom he wanted, to his Senate seat and now they are making an example out of him to the rest of the country!
 
Oh i feel your pain Pit. I live in Illinois and boy is this state in total disorganization. From our property taxes to our state workers. Most of these services are corrupt to one point or another. Here is another story but its on a federal level. In 92 i worked in st louis. Somehow or another the goverment says it never received any money for my social security. I went to my boss who showed me proof he paid. I called the Social Security office and was told...its all ok. To this day..it still shows 0 balance for the year 1992. And i had to get a lawyer who sent them a letter and was told the same thing...oops we made a mistake it will be corrected. Still..0 balance for the year 1992. Obama took half of Chicago with him..the other half of the Clinton era and where is the change???

Yeah, thats what we are doing, getting our missouri returns. Its just the principle of the matter to me.

Like I said, how many people have they actually got some money from by doing this kinda stuff? Over half the money they are wanting, is penalties and interest....lol.

I know one thing, the right to vote is one of the most important rights we have in this country. The people of Illinois really need to exercise that right and clean house in Springfield.

I hear exactly what your saying Andy. Its sad to think that in this day and age a state cant actually keep their 5hit together, and like you said how many times has the state done this and peopel actually paid..It kind of sounds like the state misplaced some of their money and there tring to recoupe it through someone, who lets say might not be paying attention..Best of luck to you concertning this...Maybe calling a certain news channel might help...Scott
