what kind of engine do you think would be best for highland speedway or any where but mostly at highland. what kind of tranny should i use a powerglide or a berts?
Call Charlie at Pro-Craft Race Engines (618) 797-1142 he will fix you right up with a motor package. He does ours and several others that race there. Our car is driven by Tom Seets Sr....
the difference between imca and ump is just a few rules,to better understand, typically imca sanctioned cars run a hard tire, all steel motors, and you must have a door plate on the chassis and they requiore a fiberglass roof...
now ump rules you can run aluminum heads, aluminum roofs, cannot run spolers and you do not have to have a door plate.typically ump is more open in the motor area..
you can run most any modified in either one of the sanctions weather it be ump or imca,if you run imca and your car doesnt have a door plate, you can just byu a peice of steel and rivet it in place to make it legal, nothing big.
as far as highland and a motor, build a good 383 or 388 and you'll be plenty fine.hope this helps!
