QUINCY, Ill. - Mark Burgtorf continues his drive for a third Deery
Brothers Summer Series championship this Sunday at Quincy Raceway.

Boone McLaughlin, Gary Russell, Greg Kastli and Lonnie Bailey all come to town the same night with aspirations of winning their first crowns.

I.M.C.A. Sunoco Late Models following the 17th annual tour travels to Quincy Aug. 31 for the 10th of 12 scheduled events this season. The Sunday show could be make or break for one or more of any of the top five drivers in the points race.

Pit gates open at 4:00 p.m. Hot laps are at 6 p.m. and racing gets underway at 6:30 p.m.

Burgtorf, the 1998 and 2001 series king, was the winner of the Deery race at Quincy back on April 13. Having wrapped up another track championship last weekend, he'll be considered a good threat to repeat this Sunday.

Bailey was second and McLaughlin also impressed with a last-to-fourth run in the regular season finale. Russell was track champ at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, while Kastli topped final point standings at Independence, Iowa, Motor Speedway, so all the points leaders have the credentials to back up their resume for the series championship.

From Quincy, drivers and fans head to Boone, Iowa, the next day for the Sept. 1 opening night race at Super Nationals. Farley, Iowa, Speedway is the site of the Thursday, Sept. 11 finale during the Yankee Dirt Track Classic.
