Interesting Article about Bloomquist

We were following a series at the time, and the very next week they sent us to this track that was a dump. I was coming off this high of racing at a great track and winning in front of 40,000 people against 200 other cars, and now we were at this little track with hardly any fans in the stands just because the track paid the series for a date. It was like getting pulled out of paradise and getting stuck in the gutter.

"So I decided I wasn't going to do it anymore. A racer shouldn't have to follow a series just because it pays points if he doesn't want to. You shouldn't have to tear up your equipment at a dump of a track for no money if you don't want to."

Does anyone else on here realize he's talking about the I-55 Pepsi Nationals, when the track was so rough?

Bloomquist is a money HO. Wonder why he would care if there are no fans in the stands.;)
Oh ya, forgot about the trailer that sells his stuff. If tracks have to guarentee him $10 grand to show, wonder if they have to guarantee him so much in sales of his stuff?

Schraeder owns a little podunk track with no fans. Guess the evil one won't be going back there.

You have no clue what you are talking about. He was talking about Macon. That was the night that about 6 of the drivers would not race and they were acused of throwing thing at the other drivers.

I had a friend in college who worked at a strip club who mentioned him as a regular when I talked about racing. She didn't know he was such a big shot and thought he was a little slimy.

Don't know a lot about the guy, but that's an interesting point of view, too.

So going to a strip club makes you slimy?????

Dang it,..... I think I'm going to need some soap;)

Man that slimy, drug doing, money hungry,t-shirt sellin, egotistical, selfish, hippie, sure is bad azz fast!!!!

Don't mess in somebody elses backyard before fixin your own.

I don't believe he is talking about Macon either, the summernationals race in Macon, when it rained alot before the night started and some of the summernationals regulars loaded up was in 2005, and Bloomquist didn't run that series that year. He last ran the Summernationals consistently in 2003.

Sorry...had my dates mixed up. I thought he had won either the World or Dream the same year that they came to Pevely. Also, don't forget that the Pepsi Nationals are directly after the World 100, and Bloomer didn't have kind words about the track surface when he was here that one year it was WoO sanctioned. My mistake...please forgive me. Jeez...can't just correct a person and let it go, huh.

As for Bloomquist himself, I couldn't care less about his personal life. He can drive the wheels off a late model, and the only person that I've seen that has any potential to have success on a scale like Bloomer has is Shannon Babb.

And of course Bloomquist is in it for the money. It's not every late model racers dream to be constantly broke.

Behind Birkhofer and Weaver, Bloomquist is one of my top favorite drivers.

the man is so full of it makes you sick may every race for him be like the 2005 world 100

Full of what? You don't think he knows what he is talking about?

I think people should learn from him rather than just whine about him. Obviously the guy knows what he's doing. He has won every major race and most of them he has won several times. He sells more stuff than anybody else too.

The year of the WoO race at pevely the track was terrible. It was all rutted up. I wouldn't have had nice things to say either and I am a huge Pevely fan.

I actually asked Bloomer about coming back to Pevely and he said "I don't think so." It was Pevely he was talking about definitely.

Not a fan

Maybe one of the most intelligent men in LMracing.
Not only his driving skills but how he marketed himself.
His bad boy image has served him well.

Bloomquist was at the top of his game when dirt LM racing needed a person who could give it national recognition. He chose not to do that. His choice. And that is OK.

Bloomquist turned me off the year he lost the HAV-TAMPA title to Freddie Smith. I watched some tapes of that years racing. In a interview with I believe with Pete Secret towards the end of the points battle he was not gracious enough to to give Freddie his dues.Instead he chose to blame HAVA-TAMPA and the flagman for the close battle. At that point In my mind I knew he was not a true champion.

In subsequent interviews I have noticed that seldom does he have anything good to say except about himself. He did compliment a track this year but I believe that was a track he used to train "HIS" drivers.

If promoters want pay him a guaranteed (This has went on before he even started driving" then let them. If they want to give free parking for his Ts trailer then let them. If racers want to buy 2 of his chassis"s to prove they are serious Racers:rolleyes:then let them. If fans want to idolize him then let them.

Personally I think he is a" ARROGANT, EGOTISTICAL ***" And I am glad there are others in the racing world to respect for their contribution to racing
than someone like him. If Bloomquist left racing today I would not miss a thing.:p

get your story straight in 2001 was thelast timre bloomer won the world 100 check the pepsi nationals that year he was not thereand if anybody complains aboout the track being choppy after 4or 5 inches of rain geesh I betcha if the race was on tv he would be their

Wow you hit it right on the head man!!!I could'nt say it any better myself.

So going to a strip club makes you slimy?????

Ummmm....Yeah, actually, it does. And you'd probably better use more than just soap. And no, I've never been to a club myself, so I don't have to worry about "my own backyard."

Question is, do I want my sons to look up to a guy like him? Absolutely not.

Actually I could care less what anyone else does.If you chose not to do something,it doesn't make someone else bad for doing things you chose not to do.
And as far as you not ever going to a strip club.. HA HA your loss!!!!!
Do what you want as long as it doesn't effect others, and is legal.

So I don't worry about other peoples backyards.Life is too short to worry about what others are doing. The man knows racing and knows how to make money$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
I'm pretty sure if you asked him he would tell you that he doesn't expect to be a role model for anyones kids.Let your children look up to their parents for role models.

Now I gotta get to the bank to get me some 1 dollar bills!!!lololololol
Have a nice day

bloomer..

i lost all respect for him when he was popped with cocaine, years back.. thats probable how he really got started. but he sure can drive a latemodel. have a nice day:)

I hope you don't think Bloomer is the only one doing coke in the pits. You just might find that several guys at all our local tracks do the same.

Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with it at all. And I agree with Mr Smith that people in strip clubs are scum.
