Ironman 55 Make up date

I-55 has hands down the best racing period anywhere near this area week in and week out. They prep the track in anticipation of how the feature races will turn out. Not some dry dust bowl heats followed by locked down features. If you want that, there are plenty of other places around here you can see that at...
This is because I-55 watered the track too much just like they always do. They water it way to much and there is one narrow lane where the slime has been blown off.It happens all the time. It makes for horrible racing. Had they not reworked the track after qualifying, the heat races would have been awesome. The racing grove would have been wide. Way way way too much water all the time.

I think 1/2 price woo general admission for Ironman 55 ticket holders for the Oct 13 show is a fair deal

Hey Don I can tell ya that I55 is one if not the best tracks around the St. Louis area. I can count on one hand that I55 has been dusty in the last 3 years. I really dont think you even have a clue to what you are talking about!

Track conditions last night were amazing... incredible track prep

i was on the fence about it like all day i knew it was goin to and yes may be iam being hard on things i cant control but i love racing every one on here will complain and moan but at the end of the day when the woo come back to i55 every one on here including my self will spend the 32 dollars to sit and watch a sprint car race its a call and yes we are all mad about it but what can we do isnt like it was a big secret we knew the risk and that is rain if they would have called it in the morning on saturday every one would have complained so we need to give props cuz they did do every thing in thier power to get it in yea they could have done some things different but we learn

Just wondering... can i55 even have dust that close to the interstate? Right down the road from me they are expanding a 2 lane into a 4 lane and the dust control effort on the dirt they are working next to the lanes that are in use are pretty intense. If a cloud of dust caused a problem on the interstate, I'd guess MoDOT or the Feds would be on them pretty hard. Maybe that's why they error on the side of too much water at times.

Then you would be b******* about the track being rubbered up and locked down to one lane!!!!! Becuase after the qualifying it was already getting close!!!

Thanks Matt

Just to shed a little bit of light on one certain subject, that being if the track is reworked or more water is added. All touring series dictate if the track is reworked and if water is added. Lucas, woo sprints and lates they all have a say so in how the track is worked. In most cases officals will even ask different drivers on how they feel the track is and go from there. The goal for the major touring series are to try and make the best race not only for the drivers, but the fans in the stands. It just ****s mother nature decided to take away from the races ..... it happens though that is just a risk we take in any outside event.

Well, look at it from the local racers side. Hauler fuel to and from Springfield Ill. $120 Temporary WoO license.12 pit passes. 4 new Goodyear sprint car tires.30 gallons methanol.Lots of Soda & Water, numerous track hotdogs, one trashed right rear wheel, one trashed right front goodyear, one hurt brand new top wing.Nuff sweat to float a boat.We made the show garaunteed $1000 to start. Left the track with nothing except a wet butt. And a Ya'll Come on back if ya wanna try again !:D:);) And just like Arnold, We'll be back !

This just goes to show how you cant please everyone all the time. Everyone should know that a program is considered "complete" after heat races are over....after that, if rains come and rains out the feature, it is simply made up the next week(in cases of weekly shows) or in this case the next scheduled date the WoO will be at I-55. I for one will be in attendance on Oct. 13th and cant wait to see the 55 lap feature and then an entire program for the World of Outlaws.

i have a suggestion if iam wrong but would the oct 13 a main be like 30 laps why dont the combine them and make it the ironman 85 is that crazy or if its a 40 lap make a 95 lap race then we can find out who the real ironman is

You need to know that 55 laps with a few caution laps thrown in was gonna require a red flag fuel stop. They don't tell the crowd that.
