is tri city going to be u.m.p

This may not be a completely popular vote in this forum but I hope that TCS remains UMP. I just like the idea of having one single orginization for racing in the STL area. I'm sure there are plenty of others that disagree or have reasons why it's bad for the business. But I guess that's why I'm not a promoter.

I would say if they are NOT ump Jacksonville and Belleville will have alot of cars being they are Friday nites also and UMP...............

Greenville is alot farther from Tri City than Belleville is. The whole radius thing. From my understanding, Belleville has the court papers ready to go.

In my opinion, UMP is a great thing for conformity in rules, but drives up tire prices by taking out competition in the tire market.

Ahh, the rules! Forgot about that angle on it. Not sure which track I'd like to see running UMP then.

At least have UMP Sanction the 4-cylinder class so I have somewhere to race on friday's to get my all so valuable points.

Hasn't it been announced that they will not be UMP? I thought that is what Jdearing has said several times as well as others. With Kevin saying what he said in the above post makes me think that they will be UMP now. I guess we will all find out soon enough.

No one has said definite that TCS would not be sanctioned by UMP. It has only been speculated since they were moving to Friday.

Tri-City UMP Situation

The fact of the matter is that Godfrey was never 50 miles away from Belleville and never will be. Maybe if you went from the southern most point in Belleville to the northern most point in Godfrey, you could get 50 miles, but track to track were not. When Godfrey closed down, Belleville did not gain many of the cars that attended Godfrey. In the same situation, if Tri-City does get UMP, which they should (and hopefully DIRT will let them), it will not draw down on the Belleville car count, because without some special occations, the same cars are at Belleville every week no matter what is going on in the area. The fact is that without Tri-City running the Sportsman Class, Belleville might be able to pick-up a few cars in that class. I really feel as though this is a mute point until there is an official announcment made by Kevin or Tammy themselves.

Sorry .. I have to disagree with you ... Jacksonville and Belleville did NOT pick up that many cars when Godfrey closed so why would that change in 2007 regardless if TC is UMP or not?

Big Bad Bear I disagree with you. Why would cars from down here go up to J'ville for less money more miles and fuel cost I mean way less money last year? At least this year they are paying a little better. As far as Belleville not getting any more cars if everyone from Godfrey was like us we wasnt going out and spend another $1000 for gears just to race there . So we usually stayed home......

I persoanlly think if they go ump they will gain cars from belleville the drivers i taslked to that ran belleville where gonna run tri city this yr and thats more then just a handful

rdc

are you guys going to run on fridays give belleville a shot would like to see tom up there .
