LaSalle, IL- It was only a matter of time before Tony Izzo Jr. made his
triumphant return to a familiar victory circle at the LaSalle Speedway.
Saturday evening, the former LaSalle Speedway and UMP points champion used
his front row starting position to claim his first victory after a several
year hiatus.

As he had done so many nights in the past, it was Izzo setting the pace and
in command of the eighteen car field. While Izzo held the point, a hard
charging Tim Hamburg was moving up the field from his fifth place start on
the grid. Following his lead was seventeen year old Justin Allgaier. By Lap
13, Hamburg, the nights fastest qualifier, had closed in on Elmhurst's Jim
Partipilo and captured second.

Hamburg quickly set his sights on Izzo who was charging through the turns.
But during Lap 14, Izzo hit some rough terrain giving Hamburg the opening he
was searching for. Hamburg slid under Izzo claiming the lead and even pulled
away on the highside. Three laps later Izzo worked low in the corners as
Hamburg hit the same rough spot in turn four.

Now it was Izzo who left Hamburg behind for second over a solid running
Partipilo, Streator's Steve Tyne, Allgaier, Kirkland's Tom Markham and Skip
Martin.

"It felt good just to be back and be competitive," Izzo remarked after his
winning evening.

When Izzo collected the checkered it was Hamburg a quarter of the track back
in second over Partipilo, Tyne, Algaier, Markham, Martin, Tonica's Ryan
Dauber, Mike Mataragas, Garrett Slager, Ladd's Dan Bardell, Scott Johnson,
Bart Schwartz, Mike Glynn, Ryan McQueary, Matt Ramer, Jason Jaggers and Jay
Fiene.

During earlier action, Partipilo took home the Dash victory in front of
Izzo, Tyne and Dauber. Brandon Slager won the first heat in front of
Schwartz, Scott Anderson and McQueary. Heat two was won by Martin, with
Fiene, Markham and Garrett Slager behind him. Algaier took home the fast
heat win over Glynn, Hamburg, and Dauber. McQueary, Schwartz , and Ramer
earned transfer positions from the semi feature.

Cousin's TJ and Ralph Markham put on quite a show for the Midwestern Late
Model division twenty-five lap feature event. Ralph started the main event
on the pole while TJ found himself dodging traffic from the ninth starting
spot in the line up. When the green dropped it took a while to get the
action started as numerous cautions slowed the field.

It seemed as though as soon as TJ would grab the lead a yellow would force
the field into a single file lineup with Ralph back at the helm. When the
sixteenth lap was ending TJ found his groove up high and took the point for
the final time. As TJ grabbed the lead Bryan Byers and Tonica's Eric Dauber
were in side by side action with Brian Moon following.

TJ took home the victory ahead of Ralph, Byers, Dauber, Moon, John Piccatto,
John Johnson, Mike Lock, Rich Bell, Doug Newlin, Al Christy, Jim Prokup, Bob
Piper, Mike Cardine, and Brian Ray.

Moon won the first heat race as Bell, Ralph and Johnson crossed the line
after him. Byers held off last weeks winner Darin Furar, Butch Hampson and
TJ during the second heat.

Jeff Hartzell picked up his second win-in-a-row for the Midwestern Sportsman
class. Hartzell started the event on the pole next to Streator's Shane Hill
and wasted little time moving into the lead.

When the event cocluded it was Hartzell the victor over Hill, Scott Hatzer,
Eric Rebholz, Tony Emralino, Darryl Grandys, Greg Cantrell, Jim Westaway,
Brian Claudnic, Keith Piano, Tim Fitzpatrick, Jason Abens, Jerry Vance, Mike
Harris, Jim Giusti, Sharon Schlappi, Scott Cimei, Tina Soberri.

Hartzell, Hill and Rebholz won the three heat races. Piano went from the
back of the pack of the semi feature during the final laps to win the
transfer position along with Vance.

Jay Hamilton held off Justin Rutledge for the win in the Street Stock main
event. Scott Schmidt finished third over Matt Weibel, Jeff Busch, Chuck
Leason, Travis Rokey, Bob Morgan, Jeremy McRoberts, Steve Lewis, Oglesby's
Nick Sell and Daniel Bark.

Next week the Midwestern Late Models will compete for their first of three
specials this season with a seventy-five lap main event on the venue.
