Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (August 1, 2007) – What already ranks as arguably the highlight of Southern Iowa Sprint Week, next Tuesday night's $30,000 to win Ultimate Challenge at Oskaloosa's Southern Iowa Speedway will have an added element of flare as NASCAR Nextel Cup star J.J. Yeley will throw his hat in the ring for victory honors.

A graduate of the Sprint Car and Midget ranks, the Arizona native returns to his roots for the night as he takes in his first O'Reilly Sprint Bandits Tour 'N Topless event.

Yeley won the inaugural edition of the Ultimate Challenge in 2001 and followed up with fifth and third place finishes in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Yeley's last Ultimate Challenge outing was in 2004, when he wound up 15th.

Yeley will face a stellar field of the nation's top wingless Sprint Car chauffeurs that will includes the likes of defending race winner Jerry Coons, Jr., 2005 Ultimate Challenge winner Levi Jones, Dave Darland, Brad Sweet, Darren Hagen, Tim Kaeding, Don Droud, Jr., Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., defending Sprint Bandits TNT Midwest Swing champion Jesse Hockett and the Kruseman Motorsports duo of Cory Kruseman and Michael Trimble among others.

The event marks the first of six O'Reilly Sprint Bandits TNT events in August, with five races in five nights to follow on August 14-18. The five night stretch that kicks off on August 14 offers up more than $85,000 in feature event purse money along with another $7,350 distributed among the week's top five point earners.

Following the Tuesday night, August 7, Ultimate Challenge at Southern Iowa Speedway, Sprint Bandits TNT action resumes on August 14 at Nebraska Raceway Park's I-80 Speedway. The next two nights feature new venues for wingless 410-ci Sprint Car racing with Mid-America Speedway in South Coffeyville, OK, on Wednesday, August 15, and then Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, OK, on August 16. The week wraps up with the two night spectacular at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS, with the Saturday night, August 18, winner pocketing $10,000.
