(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) Jeep Van Wormer and Todd Rosebrugh's #1r team hooked up and spent the August 26-27 weekend at Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan, as the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series presided over the 'Great Lakes Shootout,' which kicked off on Saturday evening with a $6,000 to win program. Jeep laid down the twelfth quickest time in Group B during qualifying prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the sixth row in the 30-lap feature, Jeep was unfortunately involved in a lap seven incident and retired from the race in the twenty-first position.

On Sunday night, a whopping $15,000 top prize was on the line in the 'Great Lakes Shootout' grand finale. Jeep posted the twenty-second fastest lap overall during WOOLMS time trials, but unfortunately lost a motor early in his heat race. The Pinconning, Michigan native was forced to scratch from the remainder of the program and was unable to transfer into the 75-lapper, which was eventually won by Chris Madden. Complete results from the Merritt double-dip can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.

Jeep will be back behind the wheel of his familiar #55 Iron Motorsports ride on September 7-9 in the 47th edition of the 'World 100.' Jeep will unload a brand-new XR1 Rocket Chassis by Brucebilt Performance at the hallowed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio next weekend. A pair of $10,000 to win Twin 25 programs will get things started at the "Big E" on Thursday and Friday, while Saturday's traditional lineup includes six heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap 'World 100.' The winner of the "Biggest Dirt Race in the World" will receive a gigantic $50,000 for their efforts at the 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant. Jeep has transferred into nine 'World 100' headliners during his career with his best finish of third coming in both 2006 and 2008.
