(WALNUT RIDGE, ARKANSAS) "The Fireball" Jeff Floyd was scheduled to compete
in a pair of O'Reilly Mid America Racing Series (MARS) events last weekend,
but the first race on Friday night at the Tulsa (AR) Speedway was cancelled
due to rain. Saturday's event was at the Joplin 66 Speedway in Joplin, MO
and the Stamp Out Smoking / Floyd's Body Shop / JFR Graphics #F1 GRT / Kuntz
Ford Taurus had to take a provisional, because of a heat race incident, to
get into the $3,000 to win main event. Jeff advanced from his last row
starting spot to finish twelfth in the feature, which was cut to 25 laps due
to rough track conditions. Jeff is now tied with Bill Frye for the fourth
spot in the 2004 O'Reilly MARS point chase.

"It was just one of those weekends," said Jeff on Monday. "We got caught up
in a heat race incident and that set us back for the rest of the night. I
took a provisional and started passing some cars. The track at Joplin has
been pretty bad every time we go there, it is a shame because they have a
great facility."

Jeff will be competing in the 8th Annual 'Cow Patty 50' at the Poinsett
County Speedway in Harrisburg, AR this Friday and Saturday night. The 'Cow
Patty 50' will pay $8,000 to the winner and the weekend will feature heat
races both nights before it is capped off with the 50-lap feature on
Saturday night.

Jeff Floyd is sponsored this year by the Stamp Out Smoking program in
