CARTERSVILLE, GA – The next event for the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series will be this Saturday night with the 40-lap $2,000-to-win Jerry Inmon Classic at Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona, MS. The third event of the 2010 NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series will be co-sanctioned with the Promoter’s Racing Organization (PRO) Dirt Car Series.

An impressive field of super late model drivers representing five states are expected this Saturday night at Central Mississippi Speedway, as continue to battle for the top ten positions that will be paid out of the $22,000 NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series point fund, with $10,000 going to the Champion at season’s end.

David Breazeale of Kosciusko, MS holds a four-point lead over Anthony Burroughs of Sheffield, AL in the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series point standings. National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN is third in the points chase, just ten points out of first-place using the GM Performance CT525 Spec Engine.

The top two drivers in the point standings have a pair of top five finishes. Breazeale has 188 points, and Burroughs has 184 points. Johnson has one top five finish and two top ten finishes to tally 178 points. Rick Rickman of Columbus, MS is fourth with 170 points, and Kyle Beard of Truman, AR is fifth in the NeSmith SDCS standings with 168 points.

The sixth through tenth spots respectively in the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series standings are Dean Carpenter of Coldwater, MS with 154 points, Neil Baggett of Shannon, MS and Matthew Turner of Dawsonville, GA with 140 each, Klint Byars of Carrollton, MS with 126 points, and Brian Rickman of Columbus, MS with 114 points.

Other top NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series entrants expected for the Jerry Inmon Classic include the 2009 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Champion Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS, Jay Burchfield of Columbus, MS, Ross Camponovo of Clarksdale, MS, Leon Henderson of Laurel, MS, Jeremy Glasgow of Caledonia, MS, Bradley Price of Hamilton, AL, and Ray Mauldin of Fulton, MS.

If a driver wins the championship using a GM Performance CT525 Spec Engine purchased from NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA, the dealership will pay the champion a $5,000 bonus to make for a title worth $15,000. The NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series will sanction super late model races in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee in 2010.

Saturday night’s event will honor National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee Jerry Inmon of Bruce, MS, one of the top dirt late model drivers in the country for over 35 years. The pit gate at Central Mississippi Speedway opens at 3 p.m. on Saturday, with the driver’s meeting set for 6:30 p.m., and hot laps are scheduled for 7 p.m. with racing to follow.
