Can you make this a paid site? I would gladly pay $10 or $20 per year to be a member of this site.
What this would do... is:
First, all accounts would be verified with PayPal and the user's name would be MANDATORY.
Second, it would get rid of the MAJORITY of "keybaord track promoters" who have multiple screen names and get on here and bash rather than promote the sport of auto racing.
Third, give PAID USERS the option to "shut off" the free accounts so that we don't have to see their crap when we are looking at and reading some of the valuable information you and other worthy users put on this site.
Honestly, I don't get on here near as much as I used to because of all the stupidity that is being displayed. The last few days I have been on here and I am dismayed by all the same old crap that comes up year after year. And is refuted year after year.
If not, maybe a more agressive push to identify the users that post under multiple names and possibly ban them until they register using their REAL identity.
What are people afraid of? If you have something to say, then be man enough (or woman enough) to sign your name.
ANYONE can get on hear and run their mouths blindly. But I doubt that most of these "keyboard track promoters" would open their mouths the way they do if they were required to sign their name and be held accountable for what they say.
I know this has been brought up before... but enough is enough. Do something or else people will go elsewhere for their info. You have a great site here but it can be sooo much better! Take control of it! I know that facebook and Twitter have probably cut into your hits over the past few years and I can tell by the quality of content that is on here, that people ARE already turning to other means to avoid some of the nonsense on here.
Drivers and tracks are relying more on facebook to reach their fans just to avoid some of the crap on here. I don't want to see stlracing die... but I see it happening.
Even if it is a lesser amount... like 2.00 or 5.00 per year... just having the PayPal verification and a real identity behind every user would clean it up considerably.
(ready for the bashing to begin)
