Joey Mack of Benton won his fourth Late Model feature of the year at the Malden Speedway Friday night. Robby Arnold took the Modified honors. Also appearing in Victory Lane were Doug Moore in Hobby Stock, Johnny Houart in an amazing race in Street Stock, Justin McBroom's sixth win of the point season in E-Mods, and the team of Tim and Kenny Doublin won their third Cruiser feature in a row.

Joey Mack started sixth in the Late Model feature following a disappointing third place finish in his heat race. Whatever changes his crew made in the interim were the right ones, as the setup was dead on for the feature. Jeff Moss opened the race in the lead, as he jumped out from the pole position.
Steve Karnes came around Moss coming out of turn two on the second lap.
Mack was right on Karnes's bumper as the pair quickly moved Moss from first to third. Following a lap four caution period, the lead trio quickly pulled away from the field and the battle was on. Mack pulled even with Karnes coming out of turn four and raced side by side with the leader for a full lap before completing the pass on lap six. Caution on lap eight reset the field and Mack started pulling away on the restart. Mack extended his lead to a full five seconds by the checkered flag. Moss and Karnes battled mid race for the second spot, before Moss took the position for good on lap nine. Karnes soon had his hands full with Kevin Roslen for the third spot with Roslen winning that battle late in the race. Chris Jones took fifth in his first start of the year at the Speedway. Moss and Karnes won the heat races. Moss takes over the points lead for the season, as Todd Hall was absent from the track this week. There will not be Late Model racing Friday the 26th, as the Sprint cars will be making an appearance at the speedway.

Robby Arnold grabbed the lead from the outside front row following a short side by side battle with pole sitter Robert Powers, and led the rest of the way to take the Modified feature. Arnold, Powers, and Greg King were racing bumper to bumper through five laps, when they encountered lapped traffic.
Arnold managed the traffic better and opened up a comfortable lead, and extended it two seconds by lap 14. From lap 16 on to the finish the leaders were in constant traffic. Powers closed to Arnold's bumper but that would be as close as he would get. Powers held on for second, King took third. Larry Hull and Gene Fowler rounded out the top five. Heat winners were Powers and Arnold.

Johnny Houart started in the 18th position after suffering a mechanical problem in the heat race. His pit crew did a superb job of repairing the car and having it ready to race in the feature. Jeff Beeson took the lead in the race and threatened to run away and hide from the field, but numerous cautions kept bringing him back to the pack. Houart slowly moved through the field and was in the top five by lap nine. Houart passed Chris Kelley to take over second on lap 11, and took the lead from Beeson coming down the front straight a lap later to complete his tour through the field. Beeson held on for second. Chris Kelley took third, followed by Mike Massie and Aaron Darby to fill out the top five. Heat winners were Beeson, Coot Wilson, and Kelley.
