[Waterloo, IA] - - Joey Schaefer continued his strong season with one win, two top five finishes, and a top ten finish this past weekend. Couple that with the launch of the team's new web site, it was a good weekend for the Four Seasons Realtors / Performance Bodies / Hoffman Chassis number"2."

Schaefer passed Scott Hogan just past the half-way point in Saturday night's IMCA Modified A-Main at the Independence Motor Speedway. The "Green Machine" motored away from the rest of the field taking the season opening win at the Independence, IA racetrack. It was the team's fourth win on the year.

"The car was a dream to drive," Schaefer said of the win at Independence. "We made some changes Saturday night that we thought would really help and they sure did."

"We (the team) felt pretty good going in Saturday night,"
continued Schaefer. "We ran fourth Wednesday night at Greenbelt Speedway (Eldora, IA), and then we took fifth Friday night at Marshalltown Speedway (Marshalltown, IA).
We just ran out of laps at Marshalltown, so we knew we had a good car."

The team took that momentum to the Benton County Speedway (Vinton, IA) Sunday night hoping for a better finish then the previous two weeks there. The last two nights at Benton County only produced two straight twenty-first place finishes.
Starting deep in the field for the A-Main, things didn't look good.

"I knew the car would run well," stated Schaefer. "We just needed to stay out of trouble and take advantage of a few yellows. The car was fast, and we made it through the field pretty fast from our 9th row starting spot." Despite having a rocket ship, the team settled for sixth.

"Just not enough laps, and not enough cautions," shrugged Schaefer. "We'll take it after the last two weekends we've had here.

This weekend Joey Schaefer Racing launched the team's new web site at www.joeyschaefer.com. The site will feature news and race results as they chase IMCA Modified points in 2005.

"We're only going to run IMCA point events this year," explained Schaefer. "That's the plan right now. We'll see how the points shake out over the summer. I'd really like the team to win the IMCA North Central Modified title, and since we only have one car, we really can't afford to take a chance at some of the non-IMCA Point events."
