Buckner, MO (Oct. 12th)-John Anderson won the battle and the war on Saturday night at Nevada Speedway as he charged from his 10th starting spot to capture the O'Reilly MLRA presented by Lucas Oil win and secure his first ever MLRA Season Championship. Jason Bodenhamer had a strong run to finish second with David Turner third, Joe Kosiski fourth, and 2008 MLRA Rookie of the Year Brantlee Gotschall in fifth.
Omaha, Nebraska veteran Joe Kosiski led the field to the green flag in the $3,000 to win 40 lap Main Event with Bodenhamer outside but it was the 2b of Bodenhamer shooting to the lead down the backstretch to lead the opening lap with Kosiski in tow. The first caution flag waved on lap 3 as the 4r of Rusty Skaggs came to a stop against the wall in turn 4. Bodenhamer led the pack back to the green flag on the double file restart with David Turner now occupying the second spot as Kosiski slipped back to third with Dustin Mooneyham in fourth and former MLRA Champion Al Purkey in fifth.

Anderson had worked his way from his tenth starting spot to sixth by lap #4. Bodenhamer began encountering lap traffic on lap 11 as Purkey and Kosiski continued to battle with Purkey taking the low line. The Caution waved on lap 14 as a multi-car tangle collected the 6t of Donnie Timmerman, the 7 of Brett Wood, and the 3a normally driven by John Farmer, but piloted tonight by Jack Simmons due to engine failure in his familiar #J2 in his heat race.

The green flag flew once again with Bodenhamer in command, but Anderson was now up to fifth and steadily moving his way towards the front. Jordon Holloway brought out the caution on lap 17 as his left rear wheel came off the car down the back stretch. As the field took the green, Bodee and Turner were working the high groove with Purkey on the bottom in third and Anderson now in fourth working the high side. The top 4 ran nose to tail as they set a torrid pace around a very racy Nevada Speedway.

As the laps clicked off, Anderson had pulled up to second and went three wide with Bodenhamer and the lap car of Shawn Harker. Anderson dove to the lead in turn 3 only to make incidential contact with Harker who had gotten out of shape in front of the leaders. Harker stopped in the corner bringing out the caution but Anderson somehow maintained momentum to retain the lead with Bodenhamer still in second. The final caution flag of the evening came out on lap 34 as Bill Koons, P.J. Haskins, and Steve Johnson got together.

At the stripe it was Anderson the winner with Bodenhamer in second. Adrian, Missouri's David Turner took third and wrapped up second place in the season Points Championship. Full results are listed below.
