CLARKSVILLE, TN – National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame inductee Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN is among the latest entries for the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series 40-lap $3,000-to-win event this Friday and Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.

Also making the trip will be StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region Champion Jason Wilson of Margaret, AL, and StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region multi-time feature race winner Jerry Owens of Florence, AL.

Johnson contended for the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Championship during the first part of the season with three wins, five top five finishes, eight top ten finishes, and one fast time honor in the first ten races of the season. After missing the last six series events, Johnson still remains in the top ten of the National Touring point standings in ninth-place.

In a career that spans over 30 years, Johnson has been a multi-time Southern All-Star Dirt Late Model Champion, and a multi-time winner of the prestigious Dirt Track World Championship Race. Johnson thrilled Columbus, MS fans on January 21 when he won the StormPay.com DLMS race at cross-town Columbus Speedway.

The victory was a hard fought battle on the last lap with point leader David Gentry of Lewisburg, TN. Johnson beat Gentry at his home track, Duck River Speedway in Wheel, TN, in another close finish to take his second win of the season, and the third StormPay.com DLMS victory of the season came at Thunderhill Raceway in Lawrenceburg, TN.

Wilson won the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region for non-touring drivers this season with nine victories, 23 top five finishes, and 27 top ten finishes in 28 starts. Five wins came at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and he posted four victories at Childersburg Speedway in Childersburg, AL.

Joining Wilson at Magnolia Motor Speedway this weekend will be the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS. It will mark the first time this season that both StormPay.com WRS Regional Champions will compete against each other.

Both Wilson and Keeton will be eligible for a $1,000 bonus later this year should one of them win the 40-lap $3,000-to-win StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series National Championship Race at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL on December 14.

Owens was one of the top StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series competitors this season at Thunderhill Raceway. Owens posted five wins this season, and will be making his first appearance of the season with the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Tour this weekend at Magnolia Motor Speedway.

On Friday night, the StormPay.com DLMS competition will include time trials to set the line-ups for the heat races. The top finishers in the heat races will transfer into Saturday night’s main event, and the front starting spots will be determined in the StormPay.com Lightning Quick 6 Dash.

On Saturday night, the preliminary action will include B-main events, as drivers that failed to transfer to the big show in the Friday night heat races will get another opportunity to make the main event, the 40-lap $3,000-to-win race on Saturday night.

Magnolia Motor Speedway will host a practice session on Thursday night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Friday and Saturday nights, the gates open at 2 p.m., with racing scheduled for 7 p.m. each night.
