(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team endured a rough night last Friday, June 15. On the way to the Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio, the transporter broke down and the team barely made it to the track for the 17th Annual 'Pepsi Southern 100.' It looked as if the bad luck was behind them, as Josh McGuire timed in second quickest during the qualifying session and later finished a strong second in his heat race behind only prelim winner Eddie Carrier, Jr. Unfortunately, more bad luck was in store for the #41 team in the $2,000 to win Qualifying Feature, as Josh broke many of the key components underneath the rear-end of his MasterSbilt racecar including the driveshaft, transmission, liftbar, etc.

Those mechanical problems dropped Josh to a disappointing thirteenth place effort, which was not good enough to transfer him into the $10,000 to win 'Southern 100' Championship Feature. With all of the damage from SOS on Friday night, Josh was also forced to skip the 'Black Gold 50' program at the Beckley (WV) Motorsports Park on Saturday, which he had planned on attending. Complete results from the disappointing night at Southern Ohio Speedway can be accessed online at www.southernohiospeedway.com.

Josh and the #41 team will look to get back on track this upcoming June 22-23 weekend in a return trip to southern Ohio. On Friday night, the Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio will open up its gates for a $2,000 to win Super Late Model show. The doubleheader weekend will then conclude with a similar event on Saturday evening at the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio.
