This thread is ridiculous and the type of stuff that needs locked or closed. Makes no sense. Sorry but it doesnt. The mods who were there were pretty good drivers. If you want this to go another route i could ad that at least they put their money in a car......buy a pit pass....strap in a racecar. Are you going to keep doggin drivers abilities on the race track every week? Because and i dont know if you realize this......but if only Mike Harrison showed up and everone said........crap i aint goin he will kick my butt......there wouldnt be a show. It take a first place and a last place to make a race. I was told that by a promoter(Wib Spaulding!!!)years ago and ill never forget that!
 
Well what im getting it as he is dogging racedrivers but yet he has yet to be one hisself and realize the effort and physical strenth it takes to do it week in and week out.It gets 130 degrees in a racecar as i ran a temp meter sometimes. I worked 50 hrs a week. Then another 20 or so went to my racecar. Plus i had kids and a wife whom id spend time with so....pretty busy i was when i raced. These cats same deal. Put up with it to go racing and its hard. Plus when i ran i guess dirtboy woulda dogged me as i was a midpack racer. I had a stock 350 9 to 1 motor. Stock rods...stock cranks running against 406's that would rule on the straightaways. Only place i could get close to the front was Godfrey(look it up in the past results...im in there 3rd in some heats......5th 6th and 7th places in some of the features) which was pretty good in my aspect as my tire rule was not an A tire or a D tire....just i picked anything i had that i could use and keep my setup the same. One week i was going to sit out. It was midseason championships at tri city. I was 14th in points. Bob Wente called me and asked if i was going to be there as he decided to start earlier since we all were running extra kaps for the features. I told Bob i was sitting out. I was going to not let myself get involved in the guys running upfront so i was going to let them have at it. He told me....Mike.......you have just as much right to be there and race as they do. Just because your not upfront.......you race hard and clean and that means alot. Me and Bob were not close friends..but that meant alot to me. But realistically...he needed everyone there to make money and i knew that. But it was cool he called me. Id be out there today if it wasnt for finances. I still love the sport....i still love working on the cars. So next time you dog others.....you must realize that in todays age...we need everyone who wants to race to be there. Or these tracks who are hurting already will not be there for you to see a race happen. Yes i realize you come from a racing family. I get that. but somewhere down the line someone has forgotten what the full circle of racing is all about. Its not about the last place guy....the middle place guy or the first place guy. Its about putting on a great show and everyone having fun watching it.
