Just some discussion

rubbing

first of all there are some great points and most go along with everything i said.let me clarify what i meant on the bumping move.i dont mean bump the guy in front of you just to get them outta the way,im talkin about the guy that is up front,missed his setup by a mile and yet he still holds the line up just to keep you behind no matter what line you take to get around him,that is not racing and he doesnt deserve to keep that spot and hold everyone up just because he missed his setup and is doing a great job of keeping everyone behind him,sorry dont agree there...i agree with liquid,in every class of racing there is bumping to gain a spot and they just made a cleaner version of it,although i dont agree with it at all,there are times you have to move the car ahead of you if you are gonna do anything at all,its part of racing..many of very fast drivers dont get there wins due to cars blocking/holding up the feild,i dont see how that is fair to the guy that busted his tail all night or year to get to the front,and cant do it because another guy cant get his car tuned and decides to look good to the croud by staying up front and holding up the line and not letting anyone pass,i realize everyone has an off night,but cmon...

I must have missed something, but if the guy ahead of you missed the setup by a mile, then you should be able to get around him easier, unless of course that driver changes his line every lap. Then you might give them the chrome horn. If you are that good, you will get by. Too many racers try to win on the 1st lap at whatever cost it takes, and if that guy holding you up stay in front of you, then you either not as fast as you tink you are, or not that good of a driver without the preferred line. I plan to race on Sat, so I guess we will see just how well I hit the setup, or how fast I really am, but, please dont try to knock me out of the way, if you are faster, just get along side and you will get the position.

Pork, You are right this could go no for ever. Bottom line is its not going to change until the track offical take control. If these rough drivers start missing features,prize money, and nights racing they might think twice about turning someone around or "just a love tap" to get by. I do agree with one comment 21racefan made about yellow flags. They need to be consistant. We are seeing alot of the same things. I guess its all in who you know. Lets all be safe because this is a hobby.

Shockley; Thanks for the compliment about teaching sportsmanship young. I think if you can handle racing without getting mad, it helps with road rage in real life. If you teach kids at an early age, it will help out later in life.
Penalties for rough driving: Rolled black flag {1st time}
Black flag {off track, scored last} race next race
Fighting or trying intentionally to wreck someone
{forfeit point for the night and 2 week suspension}

Trust me it will all stop. Be consistant and don't play favorites. Even if its family, you are not helping by letting them get by.
If someone is blocking intentionally out guess them. It will come back to bite them in the @$$ sooner or later. Remember that is what got Earnhardt killed. Drive safe and have fun.

Good Forum

There are some very constructive conversation going on here.A couple of points brought up should be cleared up though. #1 Last Sat. the weather played a big factor in putting all the Heavys together.It wasn't very long after the last race,the rain began.There's no way they could have split the class or classes,and get the whole program in.Tonight,weather will not be an issue,let's bring it up @ driver meeting.#2 Flagging You guys have to agree,the new crew is hands down a huge improvement.NO body can be perfect,ask any umpire. Bring up the rough driving @ drivers meeting,they'll listen,Brian is pretty open minded. :D :D

i know i am pretty fast and i know some slow guys have held me up for many laps before.many slow guys can hold a hole feild of fast guys up,it happens all the time,they jum in front of you every time you pick a line to go around them,just to hold the feild up and keep themselves in the front,so that leaves the faster cars no choice but to move them,thats where a little tap comes in,not slam,ram or hammer,just a little tap to move them over a bit,really it isnt that complicated to understand...also 90 percent of my races are won in the last six laps ..i let everyone else go on and try to run to the front at a start of a race and tear their stuff up,then when everything settles i make my moves...although i usually do get by the guys holding everyone up,sometimes they do make me hve to move em even though i hate to,just makin examples for times when rubbing does have to be used even though most of us CLEAN driver hatetoo..there is a time and place for everything,i agree that some guys take rubbing to the extremes and that is uncalled for,and needs to be dealt with more strict rules...i dont see the black flag used like it should be at any track,been that way for years and probably always will...

outlaw 8 you nailed it on the head

when they start losing money and points IT WILL STOP

hopefully

Last post on this subject: Pork, been there done that to just about all things said, running second last row at the start of the race when a yellow light comes on, and the only person behind me runs me off the track after slamming my rear bumper. In the insuing restart does the same thing. No black flags are being waved, so I guess it is whatever you can get away with. Good luck to you.

as i said before,that is a little extreme and should have been dealt with accordingly,i have also been there and done that,had it happen many times..guess its one of those wrong place at the wrong time deals,kinda sad that someone has gotten killed due to blocking/banging ect.. and yet still we see no more black flags now then we did 40 years ago..as much as we all sit here and complain about it it isnt gonna change a thing.all we can do is drive clean and respectful,and hope for the best,and voice our opinions,weather they are right or wrong, that depends on who you are i guess..good day!

I would like to comment on point made by i refin. Yes things are better at JYI but I have noticed the flags seemed to be dropped in favor of local karts most of the time. I have been spun from directly behind not under me 3 times now by local drivers and I have always been put to the back. It also seems if a local driver does a unassisted spin yellow is thrown not local no yellow don't get me wrong it is not just JYI almost every track I have been to is the same way. Local wins at certain tracks no teck not local there is a teck. Also when I am talking about a nudge or bump if you prefer I am talking about being completely under them and gently moving them up the track not hitting from behind getting them loose then moving under. About the weather that sat I understand why we were all put together but at that point isn't getting the race in becoming more important than the safety of the drivers. Don't get me wrong no matter what the tracks do someone will be unhappy but a little more consistency would be nice and I can honestly say I do not feel I will ever get a brake as long as I am considered an out of town driver. Not that I can get off my soap box I appreciate the fact that these tracks are there and put out a clean fun place to race. Thanks you to all the Tracks.
