kart racers

its not the tire rule . there are a lot of post on here saying they like the rule. so it must be people sitting at home watering there 44's trying to make them into 33's ha!!!!. ps heard through the grapevine there is someone making up a new prep. it is a milk and corn based prep. it is going to sell for $150.00 a gallon. i will be taking orders at the track friday night.

I never said the tire rule is the only reason kart count is down but I still believe it plays a part. Yea there are a lot on here that seem to love the tire rule like you said but aren't most of them the people that ARE racing at one of the two tracks with the tire rule. I thought you were asking about the people that WERE NOT coming to the track. Sorry my mistake. Sounds like you have it all under control and you already know why people aren't coming.

Here's my thought, these are the people I could think of right away that have gone on to other forms of racing or sports...All these drivers have moved on in the last year or two.

Brett Korves
Derek Bryant
Lenny Bryant
Tom Bryant
Brandon Schneider
Ryan Ruf
Will Hicks
Casey Montague
Kevin Menos
Lonnie Casey's nephew
Joe Nephew
Kyle Wentz
Tori Wentz
Alex Bugg
Dylan Bass
Makenzie Peter

Looks like some one better sit down & have a Oscar Meyer, & a Ms Pauls with a piece of Wonder lunch & clam down. You should know by now you cant make everone happy,& some people you are never going to make happy!!:D

There is a Jr driver that was there every week last year. That has only been there twice this year with 22's on the left (shhhh) and 33's on the right cause thats all he had, but since then has finally sold (on fleebay) almost all his non 33 tires and is getting some left 33's to be within the rules.

He is also trying to save a little $$$$ to move to some other form of racing with suspension :D

I also heard Taylor Hall has not been there cause his dad has been working 16hours a day and probally can't make it Friday nights.

we have never been to Bedrock but want to race there, we have friends that have been there and say its a nice track to race at.
Problem 1) we only have 1 set of 33's rest are maxxis or SS11's
Problem 2) 8pm start time on a friday night, we would have to drive 1-1 1/2 hrs to get there- why cant tracks run at noon or something so people that drive long distances get home at a decent time, some people have little ones that get wore out trying to stay up that late
Problem 3) the cost that most tracks are charging these days are rediculous, especially if the kids are racing for a "trophy"

and like most have said the price of gas is not really helping any but if we want to have our kids race then we have to drive 1 1/2 to 2 hrs to get to a track anyways

all this is just IMO

The one set of 33's is all you need. 1.25 rear, 1.5 front stagger.
Since Bedrock is a Friday night track, we moved the start time back to 8:00pm so people had more time to get there. We had a lot of people telling us to start later so they had more time because they either lived more than an hour away, or they get off work late. I will have to say though, I haven't seen most of these people this year. Frank does not want to move to Saturday nights because that is Coulterville's night. Anyway, hope to see you at Bedrock sometime soon.

why not move to a sunday afternoon :) that way guys could run saturday and sundays JMO i just think for us a 8pm start time that is 1 1/5 hrs away is to much with us having a 6yr old there also. we might come and try it, dont know. we also want to try coulterville in the near future as well.

We discussed racing on Sunday at the meeting before the season started and it did not get good reviews. With church, family functions, and some peoples work week starting on Sunday, we decided it would be better to run Friday nights. You're right, it is a long drive home on a Friday night with a 6 year old, but hopefully you can make it out some this year, it's a great track.

i thought kart racing was a "family function" lol :) we are gonna try to make it soon i hope, my son is wanting to race there and we have a few buddies that will come with us. what gear is a good starting point for a stock medium kart?
thanx

13-67 would be a good starting point. Should put you around 6850 rpm's.

its not the prep or tire rule, the ecomony just ****s:) folks dont have the extra income to throw at racing this year as we all have had over the past years JMO.this is probably holding some people back from getting into the sport right now. kart racing will be back to better kart counts we just have to wait for a better ecomony. I think kart racing is just as cheap as most other sports for kids no matter if racing for trophy or cash. just price what it cost to play on select teams and factor in travel and everything that goes with it and i think karting is still a good bang for the buck. we will spend over $3200.00 playing in baseball tournments thru out the midwest and south trying to qualify for the 2 world series tournments for my sons team. I realize this is a personal option for us to do but so is karting some people will still ***** about the cost no matter what tire rule or what prep cost. if you get rid of prep and go to a spec tire then they will ***** that your chassie is faster and you shouldnt have one of those cause its not fair to them either. have fun with your family and freinds and race hard and remember on monday we still have to go back to work with all the money and trophys. Steve
