kart racing help

i am looking to get into the kart racing. i am 21 years old and after driving one i think its a blast. was wanting to know if any one can give me some help on what i need to do to get into it, what i can race, or somewhere that explains everything i need to know. and what kind of kart i should get starting out. i guess i am asking what all i got to do to race and rules. thanks for all the help

It depends on what you want to race. Best I can say is if its dirt goto Bedrock in IL. www.bedrockraceway.com and walk the pits and talk to the teams and if it's pavement goto SLKA www.slka.net in Pevely @ I55 Raceway and talk to them. Good luck you will have a blast eather way you go.
