McCool Junction, NE (August 8th, 2009)- Despite starting in the eighth row, Kelly Boen drove his Jay Dicken's powered Rocket to the front to sweep the O'Reilly MLRA/NCRA King of the Hill Shootout at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska on Saturday night before a capacity crowd. Marquette, Nebraska's Kyle Berck started 24th by virtue of an NCRA Provisional and worked his way up to second at the line. Defending MLRA Series Champion, John Anderson finished in the third spot as he works to gain ground on Al Purkey in the season long MLRA points battle.

Centerview, Missouri's "Racin" Jason Bodenhamer was fourth while Lompoc, California's Mike Johnson rounded out the Top-5. Corning, Iowa's Bryant Goldsmith rebounded from a tough night on Friday to take sixth after starting 21st. Adrian, Missouri's David Turner finishing in seventh. Alan Mondus from Lakeville, Minnesota was eighth, Aurora, Nebraska's Mike Wiarda finished in ninth, and Kearney, Nebraska's Bo Egge came home in tenth. Heat Race winners included Jeep Berry, Bo Egge, Jason Bodenhamer, John Anderson, and Steve Kempt. Consolation Race Winners were Bill Koons and Mike Collins.

Boen's Rocket Chassis is Powered by a Jay Dickens Racing Engine with sponsorship support from Road Runner Fabrication, AFCO Racing Products, Intensitee Custom Racewear, Race Wise Dirt Track Chassis School, Peterson Fluid Systems, and Performance Bodies. The Feature was worth $3,000 to win. Boen is the 4-time and Defending O'Reilly NCRA Champion. The win was Boen's 11th career MLRA Feature win and fourth of 2009. The race was co-sanctioned by the O'Reilly NCRA. MLRA Provisionals were awarded to Matt Johnson and Joe Kosiski. NCRA Provisionals were awarded to Jason O'Brien and Kyle Berck. 42 Cars entered the event. Complete MLRA Points standings will be updated and posted at www.MLRAracing.com.
