SUPR/AMP Results

Little Rock, AR (June 22, 2007) – Kenny Merchant scored the 39th O’Reilly SUPR victory of his career and won the first-ever O’Reilly SUPR vs. AMP Challenge at I-30 Speedway. With the win tonight, Merchant is now just two victories shy of tying the all-time SUPR victory leader, Doug Ingalls. And while Merchant’s resume is impeccable, it’s been almost a year since his last SUPR victory, making the win all that more special. That last win came on the very same race track that he won on tonight on July 15, 2006. Merchant started fifth but it took him just three laps to move to the front getting by pole sitter, Ronny Adams to take the lead.

And while Merchant would lead the remaining 23 laps to score the win, he did so while holding off a strong pack of racers including Adams, outside pole sitter Howard Willis, Ray Moore, who would grab second on lap five and finally Jason Ingalls, who rallied from 18th to second in 20 laps. Ingalls would ultimately slow on lap 23 and bring out the last caution. Willis would then move back to second after an intense battle with Ray Moore that lasted most of the race.

25 O’Reilly SUPR/AMP Late Models were on hand.
