Inside Line Promotions - AVON, Ind. (Oct. 23, 2018) - Kevin Swindell Racing will join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series for the next two weekends to wrap up the season.
Spencer Bayston is set to climb behind the wheel of the Swindell Speed Lab sponsored sprint car this Friday and Saturday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa., during the Tuscarora 50 before the World of Outlaws World Finals the following weekend at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C.
"It's helpful," Kevin Swindell said of racing marquee events. "It brings out the best in you, which the Outlaws guys do regardless. We ran with them two nights last week and have an idea where we're at. We'll take what we learned from last week and go at them."
The team is looking to score its first career top 10 with the World of Outlaws.
"It makes it tough (racing with the Outlaws) because of the sheer fact that they've been everywhere and have seen a couple different versions of about every type of race track," Swindell said. "It makes it tough from a notebook standpoint and they've spent more time learning."
Bayston and Swindell have one career start at Port Royal Speedway, which came earlier this season during the famed Pennsylvania Speedweek. Bayston won a heat race and finished fourth in the A Main.
"I think with how we ran in the past I've got a lot of confidence going into it," he said. "Getting back in the seat and getting reacquainted a couple of weeks ago, I have a lot of confidence from that, too. I'm hoping to have a smooth weekend."
The team will return to The Dirt Track at Charlotte during the first weekend in November for the first time since making their debut there last year.
"We spent a lot of time looking at that race last year because that's what we felt like was our worst effort of the year," Swindell said. "We were comfortable going in there. Then we just weren't that great. Hopefully that doesn't repeat itself."
