I thought it was a good show. They modifieds weren't that great, but what do you expect for $500 to win. The Late Model feature was great, about 7 cars were battling for the lead in heavy lap traffic. Randy Korte ran real well but fell out with a flat. Don O'Neal drove like an animal. I was really impressed by Dennis Erb the most though. He started 10th in the heat and made a few good moves to get 4th, then won the semi. After starting 20th in the feature he passed A LOT of GOOD cars to get up to 5th and I think he could have gone further but he broke a left front ball joint plate and was out with about 12 laps to go. There was a ton of good cars that broke and had bad luck. I had never seen Ray Cook race much and he looked good until he pulled out on the track after getting a flat to stop the race. That wasn't cool. I saw a lot of people around: such as Tim Ratachek, Danny Haynes, Chris 'the Sausage' Smith, Ricky Hollywood Horton, the Ponders, etc. Ed Dixon had a bad night. I lost all respect for Terry English too but I won't talk about that much. He isn't the class act I thought he was but whatever. Rick James ran a real good race. It was a good show and I thought the track was in good shape. I think a lot of the attrition was due to the extremely hard racing for all 50 laps. 24 cars started and 11 finished. I got to talk to the Cyclone modified chassis builder for a minute, he seemed like a pretty nice guy. I also got to see Scott Weber and family. I don't have any good stories though because I didnt do anything stupid. The highlight of the night had to be having Steve Maisel ride with me down there. We had a great conversation and I don't think I scared him except for when I passed a truck in a no passing zone. It was a good first race night
