KLMS thoughts

I thought it was a good show. They modifieds weren't that great, but what do you expect for $500 to win. The Late Model feature was great, about 7 cars were battling for the lead in heavy lap traffic. Randy Korte ran real well but fell out with a flat. Don O'Neal drove like an animal. I was really impressed by Dennis Erb the most though. He started 10th in the heat and made a few good moves to get 4th, then won the semi. After starting 20th in the feature he passed A LOT of GOOD cars to get up to 5th and I think he could have gone further but he broke a left front ball joint plate and was out with about 12 laps to go. There was a ton of good cars that broke and had bad luck. I had never seen Ray Cook race much and he looked good until he pulled out on the track after getting a flat to stop the race. That wasn't cool. I saw a lot of people around: such as Tim Ratachek, Danny Haynes, Chris 'the Sausage' Smith, Ricky Hollywood Horton, the Ponders, etc. Ed Dixon had a bad night. I lost all respect for Terry English too but I won't talk about that much. He isn't the class act I thought he was but whatever. Rick James ran a real good race. It was a good show and I thought the track was in good shape. I think a lot of the attrition was due to the extremely hard racing for all 50 laps. 24 cars started and 11 finished. I got to talk to the Cyclone modified chassis builder for a minute, he seemed like a pretty nice guy. I also got to see Scott Weber and family. I don't have any good stories though because I didnt do anything stupid. The highlight of the night had to be having Steve Maisel ride with me down there. We had a great conversation and I don't think I scared him except for when I passed a truck in a no passing zone. It was a good first race night

Thats not cool, spill the Terry English "loss of respect story". Thats like saying I know a secret and walking away!

Yeah, whats up w/ the English thing, I mean what did he do to give you the loss of respect. Just curious, I didn't get to go b/c I was in Decatur bowling. Thanks

henglish and erb had a racing deal and there was a confrontation in the pits from englishs crew.

This was some of the best racing I have seen in a long time. What a show the late models put on. Mike Hammerle and I sat through the entire feature with our mouths dropped open. He agreed that in all his years, this was the best he had seen. Three cars didn't make weight after the feature, Oneil, Mcdowell, and Wendell Wallace. Oneil tried 3 times on the scale and then pitched a b-fit. The deal with Ray Cook was ridiculous. He left the track to change a tire, which is a no-no with NALMS. Your supposed to use the "hot pits" in the infield. Sherry came out and told the officials to let him back in. That was B/S.

But it was still a super show.

We also went to Clarksville for the Toilet Bowl. Not quite as amazing of a show, but it was good none the less. Hammerle made a valiant effort in the consi, and even led about 5 laps, but developed a push and didn't make the show.

Hey Jimmy get a life!
How about talking about something that really maters!
HeHe So ya going to run that browntown track again this year?
I shure have herd alot of bad things about the track and the promoter down there?
Just wondern have you had any problems or are you the "teachers pet" as one would say?
well right me back c ya

Jim spill the beans in a PM, I'm curious....lol I bet it was because he didn't offer you a beer....lol

Oh yea, and Rick James is the dead guy with the dread locks that sang "Super Freak"....lo

Scott James is the really big bald guy that drives the number 83 late model.

Hey Hammertime, I don't know what your problem is, but I am racing at BROWNSTOWN this year on Fridays. If I don't go there, I will race at GODFREY. If those two tracks blow up or tell me I cant race there or something, I probably wont race much on Friday's. Flora is too far to go and I don't know many people there. I choose to race BROWNSTOWN because I think there are a lot of nice people there that I enjoy racing with. And as far as you saying I need to get a life, I think you need SPELLING LEASONS.

Children, children...

Now don't go throwing accusations at each other. Neither one of you can type, spell, or proofread. That's "spelling lessons" , Jimmy dear.

Jimmy says he's racing at Brownstown on Friday nights--he likes it there, no walls, wider track, but it's sooooooo far away! I don't get it. I told him he has to wait for me to get home from school, so we can ride up there together--quality Mom & son time in the pick-up truck for 2 hours! He says he can make it there in 1-1/2 hours from Waterloo. With me along, no way! :p

:eek James i that the way you talk to your mom? You know i but or i think she helps pay the bills on that truck and car. So is the car fully done now jimmy? it does look good i wish you the best of luck init this year, and maybe a championship too, so you can get into a MOD :D

Ridin' in the trailer?

No, James, I think I'm driving the whole thing!

Who owes whom money? You forced my hand, young man. Don't threaten your Mother! You won't win! :p

Well… could be that Jimmy’s mother has told him “If you don’t have anything NICE to say. Don’t say ANYTHING at all.” … And we all know his mama is watching! LMAO!

That was a GREAT show at KLMS. I too sat with Mike Hammerle and watched an awesome latemodel feature. I have never seen all those great drivers in the same field together. TOO BAD Kevin Cole broke in the modified feature, he was fast and running down the leader, and he looked good in the late model too. Hats off to Kevin, I'll be rootin for ya' man, come to Belleville sometime bud.....
