I was wondering the same thing the other day. It's a shame such a nice track is going to waste.

I heard today that the water was left on in the boxes at the track and supposedly froze over the winter and it was not discovered for some time. Supposedly, the ceilings in the concession and gift shop boxes are laying in the floor. Also, the generators and the water pumps are supposedly shot due to the freezing temperatures. I don't know if any of this is true or not, but came up in a conversation about the track. Also, the talk was that Schrader and Stewart had contacted Sherri about leasing the track in the short term until PIR was ready until they learned about all the issues at KLMS.

Don't think KLMS will ever open again as a racetrack. Sherri wants too much money for it and the folks in Marshall Co. don't want it there and had been trying to shut it down since day one.
