Junction City, KY-August 12- Current NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series points leader Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN had to borrow a ride for the night, but still picked the $1,500 payday on Friday night at Larry Yantz's Ponderosa Speedway. Kramer had engine problems in his regular ride in hot laps, but was able to borrow Don Adams' mount for the evening to compete.

The initial start of the 25 lap, $1,500 to win Modified main event would be called back due to a turn two spin by Brian Marksbury. Once action got the green flag, Kramer would jump to the race lead, with Victor Lee, Justin Rattliff, Jason Wheatley, and Arnold Adams giving chase. Caution would wave again on lap 3 for debris on the backchute. Kramer again led the race on the restart, while Kelly Warren would scoot beneath Adams for the fifth spot on the lap 3 restart. Meanwhile, Kramer would continue to lead Lee and Rattliff, as the trio would start to begin lapping slower traffic by lap 11. Business seemed to be ready to pick up at the point as Lee rolled right in on Kramer on lap 14 as the leaders worked in a pack of five slower cars, but the action would be slowed when sixth place running Arnold Adams spun exiting turn two on lap 15. The restart would see Wheatley challenge Rattliff for the third position, with the pair side by side on lap 16, before Rattliff secured the spot again. The final caution period of the race happened on lap 21 when Dustin Linville looped his mount in turn one. The final four circuits would see Kramer ease away from the field to extend his series points lead aboard the Don Adams owned Lightning Chassis sponsored #90 Lightning Chassis entry. Lee would go second, with Rattliff third. Wheatley would hold off a hard charging Warren for the fourth spot. The remainder of the top ten would be Tommy Bailey, Clint Shutts, Joe Turner, Adam Gootee, and Jimmy Payne, who came from the rear twice after suffering two flat right front tires.

Twenty-six entries would sign in for racing action, with Justin Rattliff scoring the Racing Optics Fast Time award by touring the "Pond" in 15.670 second during time trials. The VP Racing Fuel Makin' Power Heats fell to Wheatley, Lee, and Kramer.
