Trumann, AR (11/22/09) – “The Silent Assassin” Kyle Beard returned to action on Saturday night at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama in his #86 GRT By Frye/Samuels Performance Racing Engine Super Late Model and came away with a top ten finish in the $2,500 to win event.

Beard Motorsports returned to North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama for their first event back at the red clay bullring, since Kyle's horrific wreck at the facility on Labor Day weekend that resulted in a destroyed race car and a concussion. The team had two objectives for the event. The first objective was to continue their late season surge in performance, and the second objective was to prove to everyone (including himself) that Kyle has put the accident in the past. He would be successful on both fronts.

With 26 Super Late Models in action, Beard qualified 6th fastest in his group in group time trials, which left him just one spot short of locking into the feature event. As a result, he started on the pole of his b-main qualifier, and would battle Brandon King for the lead before settling for a second place finish to earn the 13th starting position for the 50 lap, $2,500 to win feature. Early in the event, Kyle would slip back as far as the 18th position before beginning a march toward the front of the pack during the race's middle stages. He would dial his car into the low groove during the second half of the event as he marched back to an 8th place finish. The team was once again satisfied with their performance, and they hope to end the season with at least one win at Columbus Speedway over the Thanksgiving weekend!

The team will travel to Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi this weekend for their final event of the 2009 campaign as they enter the 9th Annual Southern Belle Possum Town Grand Prix. The team traveled to the event in 2008, but after practicing on Thursday night, the remainder of the event was nixed by Mother Nature. This year’s event will get underway with an Open Practice Session on Thursday night. On Friday, a $2,000 to win/$200 to start program will be held, while a $3,000 to win/$200 to start event is scheduled for Saturday.
