Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (June 18, 2006) – The clock is ticking for race fans planning on renewing ticket orders for the upcoming 21st Annual O’Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals, with less than two weeks remaining until the June 30 renewal deadline passes by.
Ticket holders from the 2006 O’Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals only have until the close of business on Friday, June 30, to retain tickets for the 21st running of the prestigious indoor, dirt track racing Midget event at the Tulsa Expo Raceway, which will take place January 10-13, 2007.
Once the June 30 deadline has passed, any remaining tickets will be allotted to new orders and increased orders on a first-come, first-served basis, with early orders being filled first.
The 20th edition of the O’Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals, which culminated on January 14, featured a record total of 260 entries with top drivers from numerous racing disciplines throughout the nation vying for the coveted Golden Driller trophy.
Taking the final checkered flag before a packed house on January 14 was Late Model and DIRT Modified ace Tim McCreadie of Watertown, NY, a surprise victor as he became the first winner in Chili Bowl history to come from a racing background outside the open wheel Sprint Car or Midget ranks.
McCreadie joined a prestigious list of Chili Bowl Nationals winners that includes Sammy Swindell (1998, 1996, 1992 and 1989), Cory Kruseman (2004 and 2000), Dan Boorse (2003 and 1999), Tracy Hines (2005), Tony Stewart (2002), Jay Drake (2001), Billy Boat (1997), Donnie Beechler (1995), Andy Hillenburg (1994), Dave Blaney (1993), Lealand McSpadden (1991), Jon Heydenreich (1990), Scott Hatton (1988) and Rich Vogler (1987).
NASCAR stars Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne and J.J. Yeley are among those that are expected to compete in the 21st Annual O’Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.
Tickets for all four nights of racing action are available for just $154. Four-day ticket holders also receive free admission to the Tuesday afternoon, January 9, practice session slated for 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
