Late Model payouts

you gotta have a drawing card and the shamrock had 29 cars for 1500 to win

Yeah but what other track in the area was running and there was only like 12 to 14 cars there that run there on a week to week basis when the other tracks open ur gonna lose those guys.

But i totally agree with BOS I do it for the FUN but little extra money for the gas wouldnt hurt lol

All tracks that pay on car count are only hurting there self..It seems TCS has the best payout around. LM $1200 ? MODS $700 ? SS $250 ? HORNETS $150 ?

12 to 14 mods not late models usually 20 to 25.i remember lots of consis last year for the late models.

yeah but there was alot of the regulars not ready yet that includes the mods

many of the tracks around here have weak payouts. i have several suggestions of how to make it possible to pay better, but no promotors want to listen to anyone. here is a few other payouts:

brownstown, indiana modified and SPORTSMAN payout: 600, 350, 250, 225, 200, 175, 150, 150, 125, 100, 10. 75, 60 to start

peoria modified payout: 600, 400, 300, 210, 200, 180, 160, 130, 120, 10. 100 on back

You can take any one payout and compare it to the others. Truth is there is not much overall difference from weekly track to track. Some are top loaded some are weak in the middle and pay more to start. Then some pay to show and others don't. Truth is each track pays what they feel like they can afford.
These fixed purses are trouble for racetracks in these economic times. Sure the purses have remained the same for quite a few years now but the average fan count is down. Jimmy pm me your ideas. Not just a lower the price and they will come. We as promoters are working hard to introduce new fans to our sport and the racers should do the same.
That is a nice sportsman payout at Brownstown Ind. but they also charge $15 for adults weekly!

i tried to send you a message don, but it was full, i would post my thoughts here but would insult a lot of people in doing so, so i'll try again some other time.

B town is also off 12 nights thru the season and many night the run crates instead supers for 15 bucks sorry no thanks

yeah, i just did see that it is $15 for the stands. you failed to mention that brownstown speedway allows you to bring in a 14" cooler as long as you dont bring in glass bottles. it says that on their web site right below the admission price. if i go to brownstown, sit in the stands, and take a little cooler with 6 beers it would be about $20. what would it cost me to go to belleville, or any other area track and get in the stands and have 6 beers, or 3 sodas, or a few bottles of water?

Just pack up and move to Indiana. You will be a lot happier there (at least for awhile).

maybe some of these local tracks should consider scheduling a few nights off in advance rather that having last minute cancellations when they are afraid of loosing money? you also failed to mention that brownstown, indiana and north vernon, indiana, work together on their schedule and take opposite weekends off. that would be equivalent to belleville and tri-city working together so fans and racers could visit each track and go every week, or not go as much and just go to one track 15 times a year

Wow, I thought u was a real class racer. Your nothing but a crybaby, go sit with mommy and eat cookies while watching and learning how it's suppose to be, waaa

I had looked up to you as a good racer, you sure changed mine and I'm sure a few others. Go to Indiana. I've been ther they wipe a crybaby right off the track.

well darn. i thought this was a 'discussion' page. all i see is more people every year getting out of racing the way things are going. thanks for the positive suggestions ptony.

Your right jimmy, I still like watching you race, and can't wait to see you again this year. Your a big favorite of mine. The purses do ****, for all racers. But most is do to the economy. Our government allows these crappy azz insurance companies to keep rising costs, the fuel is rising, the cost of food. And in order to raise these purses the tracks would have to raise the price of admission. Then they lose fans, which is already down due to fuel to get there. I know most tracks just make it most years. They don't make the money, like the insurance companies, that rape them every year. Most track owners, leaders managers do this job for you all to race. Yea, I'm sure they'd love to pay big bucks every night they race. The more they pay the more cars they get. But to raise a purse 500 dollars more for one class has to be raised for other classes. Without a for sure thing it will bring more cars. Dam if you do dam if you don't

Years ago (when the rocks were still cooling), I raced at tracks where the pay-out was a percentage of the gate. We liked racing on a night with a destruction derby, it added a lot of fans, and we made more money.

Promoters have spent the pay-out money the second they open the pit gate. No mater what the front/pit gate or concessions bring in.

Tell you what, drivers and die hard fans, would become much better at promoting their track and try to get all their friends, neighbors, cousins, strangers on the street, to come to the races, if they knew a full grandstand means good pay out for the race drivers.

There is a great race facility in Fredericktown that I am sure the owners would love to have open --- if you all have great dreams of big payouts and a whos who of racing.

Don H.. with prom and graduation coming up, have you considered giving away passes to the track? I know it would be alot, but all it takes are a few to spread the word!! You could even split up the months for the passes for each school district, for April, May and June. Just a suggestion! I have a few more for Fan Appreciation if you would be interested! I helped with Godfrey Speedway's, many years ago and it was a hit!

This was for ridethecusion and Don H.... I hit reply to their posts but it
didn't add to their posts! AND I am not gonna re-type it..!
