(Warrensburg, MO) Time has come for the final special events of the year at Warrensburg's own Central Missouri Speedway to take place this Friday and Saturday night, September 4th and 5th. The Labor Day weekend race action will feature plenty of greenbacks for the drivers to take home during the $1,500-to-win ULMA late model 25-lap main event on Friday, September 4th with 24 starting drivers. Joining the ULMA cars on Friday night will be the modifieds for night one qualifying for the next night's grand finale. The top twelve finishers from Friday night's scramble event will make up the inside row starting positions for Saturday. If that isn't enough for you, the CMS gates swing open again on Saturday for night two of the modified special with a $3,000-to-win night cap event. Twelve more drivers will make their way into the 24-car starting field gunning for the big payout with b-modifieds and street stocks also on the race program.

Several drivers have already pre-registered for the event including CMS stalwarts such as Dave Meyer, Jim Moody, Dean Wille, Terry Schultz, Aaron Marrant, James McMillin, Jason Thompson, and Don Dannar. Additional pre-registered modified drivers include Aaron Poe, Tim Setzer, Luke Feeback, Steven Bowers Jr., Chad Lyle, Don Crnkovich, and Jake Richards. Seventeen ULMA drivers pre-registered for the event on Friday, including defending track champion Jon Binning, Bob Test, Randy Ainsworth, Kevin Coyne, Dwight Niehoff, and Robbie Test. Additional pre-registered late model drivers include current overall ULMA point leader Kevin Kaiser, David Barker, Brett Wood, and Jason Bodenhamer, who will be making his first scheduled CMS appearance this year in a car owned and operated by CMS driver Derek Nevels. Same night entries are available to all drivers in all classes this weekend. Entry forms may be found on the track's Web site and are available the night of the events. Late model drivers do not have to be ULMA members; however, at CMS the track utilizes the ULMA sanctioning rules package, which will be strictly enforced. All participating cars will be subject to technical inspections throughout the race event. There are NO additional track fees for drivers.

Last weekend's modified feature was one for the ages as Dustin Boney, Terry Schultz, Dave Meyer, and Tim Setzer put on a classic battle for the fans in the stands in the weekly modified feature event. There were 41 modifieds on hand last week for the weekly event; this weekend will certainly be another race night featuring a deeply talented pool of racers in all divisions. The ULMA late model car count this year has been topnotch, 22 cars were on hand last week and 23 the week before. This year's average car count for late models at CMS is nearly 20 cars per week. Since returning to CMS in May the ULMA drivers have upped their game with eleven different winners claiming victory out of fourteen features ran this year. Modifieds and ULMA late models will utilize the passing points system to determine their lineups this weekend while street stocks and b-modifieds will be competing under normal CMS guidelines for track points and lineup procedures. Modifieds and late models will not be competing for track points this weekend; however, for the ULMA member drivers, the Friday event will be a ULMA points-earning event with nearly the entire top ten in overall points expected to contend for the $1,500 payday.

Normal start times apply throughout the weekend with pit gates opening at 4:30, admission gates swing open at 5, the drivers' meeting starts at 6:30, hot laps begin at 7, and racing gets underway at 7:30. The track is located 3.5-miles north of Warrensburg, MO from the junction of Highways 50 and 13 in Warrensburg or from the Higginsville exit off of I-70, travel south on Highway 13 for approximately 14 miles. For more information call the Track Report line at (660) 747-2166. Limited primitive camping is available at the speedway on a first come/first served basis.
