Lebanon,Mo.-Before a packed house of over 300 people the LebanonMidwaySpeedway honored the 2007 tracks champions along with the top 10 drivers from the Stockcar Program along with its top go-kart racers for the season.
The evening started with owner Harold Armstrong giving the invocation while Dowd's Catfishhouse in Lebanon provided a wonderful buffet for the evening.
Awards started with the go-kart track as Midway would provide giant trophies for the top 3 with plaques going to the other spots.
The Kids Rookie Flat kart class was called up first as 4th through tenth place were called for there plaques.Those Karters included Morgan Johnson(10th) Jordan Martin(9th) Mikayla Callahan(8th)Conner Callahan(7th)Devin Duncan(6th)Arien Fohn(5th) and John Henson (4th).The top 3 were brought up to not only recieve the Trophies,but a chance to speak and thank people and sponsors.Those Karters were Caleb Starnes(3rd),Austin Smart(2nd) and Champion Colby Latrop.Only 5 points separated the top 3 drivers in the Rookie Flat class as they recieved a Huge Greeting from the crowd.
The Winged Rookie Outlaw Open class featured Lebanon's Zachary Carter grabbing the hardware as the season champion with the rest in order as Kaden Miller,Alex Stewart,Tyler Todd,Race Ryan,Alan Cunningham,Justin Wagner,Caleb Hughes,Zachary Wagner and Matthew Flodd completed the top 10.
The Winged Rookie Outlaw Restricted class saw 2 young ladies honored in the top 10 as Eldon,Missouri's Elizabeth Larson claimed the 2007 season championship after a tough season long battle with Tyler Todd.Larson thanked her family and told the crowd the thing that she remembered the most was giving Tyler Todd Chocolate after he flipped his kart on the final points night.Lynchburg's Tyler Todd went right down to the wire in the points chase and just fell short but grabbed second place in the final standing.Tyler's moment he remembers the most was flipping his kart and also thanked his family and friends.Justin Wagner,Zachary Wagner,Spencer Eagleburger,Elizabeth Stewart,Logan Harbison,Devon Stagner,Conner Schaffer and Carter Darnell completed the top 10.
The Junior 3 class honored the top 3 drivers with Lebanon's Derek Nash grabbing the season title with Timmy Carter Jr and Kody Teeters completing the top 3.
2 Adult classes were honored as Phillipsburg's 16 year old Micheal Stake grabbed the season long title with Darin Nash,John Shelton,Tony Fincher and Scott Cole were honored.
The Adult Heavy Class had Mike Rice claiming the season honrs with AJ Starnes,Jeff Fohn,David Nash and Cody Elliott in the top 5.
2 Rookie 4-wheelers were awarded Trophies for competing this season as Frankie Urbas of Richland and Lebanon's Dallas Teeters accepted awards.
The Speedway then gave out the stockcar program awards with track officials and sponsors being recognized for there efforts in 2007.The sponosrs included Heartland Antique Mall,Knife Country USA,Coca-Cola,Tim Parsons AutoSales,A&C Construction,Heartland Roping Arena,AMSOIL and many others.
The SuperStocks were awarded 1st with Donnie Gennings claiming the 2007 track title followed by Travis Hill,JC Newell,Ben Newell,Clinton Betts,Larry Pruitt,Bill Joiner,Mark Davis,Bennie Joiner and Bill Scharr completing the top 10.
The A-Mods top 10 included 2007 Champion Eric Hudson of Rolla along with Jamie Ragland,Jimmy Willis,Chris Johnson,Jack Jones,Brian Brown,Sam Petty,Craig Wood,Steve Muilenburg and Tony Jackson Jr.
The Winged SprintCars saw JP Compton claiming the track honors with Joe Todd,Eric Todd,Clint Todd,Scott Wedelstadt,Jeremy Hazel,Rusty Quick,Dustin Arnall,Jeremy Williams and Keith Breedlove completing the top 10.
The FactoryStocks were honored with Dylan Keepper grabbing the season title awards followed by Bobby Ratterree,Sundance Keepper,James Ellis,Lonnie Henderson,Glen Dismang,Greg Breedlove,Ben Solberg,Troy White and Joe Davenport grabbing the hardware.
The Bombers had Mike Piercy claiming the Biggest Trophy along with the title of Season champion with Joe Francis,Jack Hamer,Brandon Waters,Keith Cheever,Wayne Coffman,Dusty Rhoads,Billy Waters,Jerry Goring and Jennifer Crouch being honored.
The B-Modifieds would have area racer Jason Otto put his name into the record book as the first ever B-Mod champion as Jason Thanked most his family telling how it really pulls them together as a whole.Colt Cheevers,Troy Young,Jack Lancaster,Earl Muilenburg,Jamie Petty,Jeff Albright Jr,Greg Strong,Steve Muilenburg and TR Phillips were also honored.
Special awards went out to each class in the Best Appearing Car with Larry Pruitt(SuperStocks),Jack Jones(A-Mods)Joe Francis(Bombers) Lonnie Hnderson(FactoryStocks) Jeremy Hazel(WingedSprints) and Colt Cheevers(B-Mods)
The Most Improved Driver awards went to Clinton Betts(SuperStocks),Jimmy Willis(A-Mods)Brandon Waters(Bombers),Greg Breedlove(FactoryStocks),Rusty Quick(WingedSprints),and Jeff Albright Jr(B-Mods).
Needs a little luck awards went presented to Bennie Joiner(SuperStocks),Sam Petty(A-Mods),Adam Lowrance(Bombers)Troy White(FactoryStocks)Mike Williams(WingedSprints), and Greg Strong(B-Mods).
Earl Muilenburg at age of 71 was awarded with the most spirited and still kicking it award in the B-Mod Class while Wayne Coffman was awarded the Sportsmanship Award.Missy Shaw and Jennifer Crouch were awarded Special awards for ladies competing in a Man's World along with the extra things they do to help out on Kid's Nights at the Midway.
LebanonMidway has announced that they will move the Go-Kart program to Friday Nights starting around May and the Stockcar program will be running on Saturday Nights in 2008 with weekly racing in the SuperStocks(Sportman class),A-Mods,B-Mods,FactoryStocks,Bombers and 305 WingedSprints.
Special events will include special paying shows in the classes plus visits by the O'ReillyAutoParts MLRA Super Latemodels,the Show-Me LateModels,The WOW 360 WingedSprints and other special events.The Sat Night Program will be starting at 7:30 next season,while Go-Karting action should be approx.7:30-8PM starting time.
