Lebanon,Mo.-Officials at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway are preparing for the 1st annual Fast Factory 50 for the FactoryStock type cars with the winner recieving a cool $5,000 to win while the event pays $500 to start the 26 car field on April 21st and 22nd.
"The crowd really likes this class,"quoted owner Harold Armstrong."They can relate to the type of car.When this class was first started,it was mostly Metric type cars,but now the Camaros are making there way in as the Metric is getting harder to find stuff for."
The Min.wheelbase is 101 inches for this event and weight is 3300 lbs with the driver after the race.Asphalt takeoffs keep the tire cost down and the drivers do have a choice as there are other tires they can run,but the type of tire and compound that gets you into the feature,you must run in the feature.
The payoff will be as follows 1)5000 2)2500 3)1250 4)1000 5)850 6)800 7)750 8)700 9)650 10)625 11)600 12)580 13)570 14)560 15)550 16)540 17)530 18)520 19-26)500.
Drivers will draw for heat positions on Friday night and the winners of each heat will run a pole dash to help set the top 3-4 rows.Drivers finishing 2nd,3rd and possibly 4th will run a qualifying feature as a total of 14 cars will lock-in on Friday night.Sat Night,drivers who haven't made the feature will redraw for heats and each winner will advance.There will be a last chance qualifying feature to help fill out the field.The track will have 2 provisionals for the top point cars who haven't made the feature from the 2005 Midway final point standings as they will start 25th and 26th.
Entry Fee is 100 per car and pit passes each night will be 30.
Fans will also be treated to racing on Friday night with the area Bombers as they will run a special paying race while also recieving bonus points in the 2006 standing.There is a possibility of 1 other class racing that evening.
On Sat Night,fans will get to see the ast Factory 50 heat races,a qualifying feature and the 50 lap main event,while the track will also host LateModel Racing as the Fastrak MidWest Regional Series will invade the Midway to open the 2006 season.
Racing on Friday night starts at 8,while Sat action starts at 7:30.
