Clearmont, Indiana - The man who calls Indianapolis his second home, Jason Leffler, won the NASCAR Busch Series Kroger 200 at O’Reilly Raceway Park (ORP).

“This is my home track and I love to race here,” said Leffler.

Leffler has had six career victories at ORP, four USAC Midget and two USAC Silver Crown Midget wins. The win tonight was his second victory in 140 NASCAR Busch Series races. His last win was in Nashville.

“We are excited to bring Toyota Camry to victory lane,” said Leffler.

This was also the first ever win for Toyota NASCAR Busch Series.

Greg Biffle who started at the back starting field weaved his way to front to take second place and was followed by David Reutimann, Carl Edwards and Ron Hornaday.

The race action in the last 35 laps brought the large crowd to their feet. It was all started by Greg Biffle and Roush teammate Carl Edwards who put on quite a show racing side-by-side for five plus laps. Biffle took the high groove and Edwards took the lower inside groove. In the turns, especially between three and four, Biffle was just mere inches from the wall.

While these two battled, David Reutitman and Jason Leffler closed in on the leaders. Then for a few laps it was nearly three-wide at times with Leffler just inches behind.

Then Edwards fishtailed slightly, nearly causing a wreck, but all escaped. Edwards dropped back to fourth as Reutitman and Leffler jumped ahead of him.

“This is a fun place,” said Edwards after the race. “I wish we could run 500 laps here twice a month.”

Biffle was able to pull away a bit and Reutitman and Leffler battled for second place. At one point they switch positions three times within a two lap space.

The dramatic finish took a short breather when the caution flag came out on lap 193 when Josh Wise spun down the front stretch.

After the restart on lap 195, Biffle once again led the way and continued to run the high groove.

“I had to run the high groove all night because no-one was up there,” said Biffle.

The two racers battled side by side and then on lap 198 Leffler took the lead out of turn two sneaking by on the low side and he held on for the victory.

Aric Almirola won the Busch Pole for the Kroger 200, lapping the O’Reilly Raceway Park in 22.481 seconds at 109.853. This is Almirola’s fourth Busch Pole in 23 career NASCAR Busch Series races. He led the raced for the first 45 laps and then later in the race of an additional 42 laps but eventually had to settle for sixth place.

Eric Darnell qualifying for David Ragan who was qualifying at the same time for the Brickyard 400, posted the second-fastest lap at 22.576 seconds, 109.391 mph. Ragan finished in 18 th place

Ron Hornaday, last night winner at O’Reilly Raceway Park NASCAR Craftsman Truck race, posted his first top-10 start this season at 22.582 seconds. Hornaday was in the mix the entire race but finished in fifth place after winning last night at NASCAR Truck Race at ORP.

Mike Wallace, driving the Geico Chevrolet, started in the 19 th position on the 10 th row. He finished the race in 20 th. Steve Wallace posted a lap of 22.991 seconds, 107.416 mph starting in row 13 and finished in 17 th but was involved in a wreck at the end of the race.
