LEBANON - The Legends race cars will be back at the Lebanon I-44 Speedway for their first 2006 appearance on Saturday.

The DLRA Legends are on a rotating schedule with the speedway, making a total of six appearances. About 30 cars are anticipated to race in the class Saturday night, track promoter Randy Mooneyham said.

"We had a great showing with the Legends last season," Mooneyham said. "They're a great class to work with and they always put on a great show for the fans."

After a large opening night at the speedway, another large car count is expected as the Late Models try and dial in the track in anticipation for the MARS UMP Challenge the following week.

Saturday night, sponsored by Tim Parson's Auto Sales, will feature the Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Factory Stocks, Bombers, Rookies and Legends. Late Models will be offering $1,000 to win, the top Modified winner will receive $600 and Legends are racing for a $400 top purse.

Racing will again resume at 7:30 p.m.
