Lenny Batycki Appointed Vice President and General Manager of Gateway International Raceway

Madison, IL. - Gateway International Raceway is pleased to announce the hiring of veteran motorsports executive Lenny Batycki as Vice President and General Manager. Batycki (Bah-tick-ee) will assume responsibility for all day-to-day operations and staff at the multi-purpose motorsports facility near St. Louis.

In the shadow of the famed Gateway Arch, the 1.25-mile Gateway International Raceway plays host to NASCAR's Busch and Craftsman Truck Series, as well as the O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals. The track begins its 11th season of operations in 2007.

Batycki comes to Gateway International Raceway with more than 15 years of experience in senior motorsports management. He was most recently team president of Biagi DenBeste Racing, owner of the No. 4 NASCAR Busch Series team. Batycki handled all of the team's business affairs, contract negotiations, and directed their public relations efforts and website.

Before joining Biagi DenBeste Racing, Batycki was the owner and lead consultant of Strategic Advisors, a sports marketing consulting firm. He also spent several years at the vice president level with Doug Herbert Performance Parts, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, Richard Childress Racing, and North Carolina Motor Speedway.

Batycki will relocate to the St. Louis area from Charlotte with his wife Annette and son Jake.
