Let's do something nice for Danny Heiple

Debbie Cummins

Bomber Momma #19
As many of you know, Danny Heiple came home from I-55 this past Saturday night to find his home engulfed in flames. He lost everything. He posted on Facebook that all he had left was the clothes he was wearing to I-55 that night.

Danny is one of the most ardent race fans I know....he talks to everyone, travels to all local tracks and beyond, and loves drivers and teams in all classes. He probably had hundreds of racing t-shirts and sweatshirts, but he lost all of them in the fire. I think it would be nice if any race drivers and teams who wished to do so would donate one of their size XL t-shirts to Danny to help him replace the ones he lost in the fire.

You can give them to my son Jimmy Cummins in the pits at Brownstown, IL (Fayette County Speedway) or at Highland Speedway, or bring them to me at my Jr. Fan Club table at Belleville this Friday night. If someone at I-55 would let me know, I can post who to give them to there.

I know Danny would be very, very grateful for any shirts that you could donate to his wardrobe. I can't imagine going through losing all of your belongings and treasured keepsakes in a disaster, be it fire, storm, tornado, hurricane, whatever, so if you could, please help him out and give him one of your racing t-shirts.

Thanks so much for your generosity and help with this benefit project for Danny. I'd like to post all of the teams that give him a shirt. Let's fill up his closet with the most generous racing team shirts in the St. Louis area!!!! :)

You can also give them to me or my wife at I-55 and we will see that Danny gets them.....

Thank you Jimmy Dearing, that is great! I'm working on an address for Danny if anyone would want to send him one by mail. I'll post it on here as soon as I know what it is. Thanks everybody!!!

Here is an address where you can send your t-shirt for Danny. It's his sister's address, as he is still living in a hotel.

Danny called me today....his house is a 100% total loss according to the insurance adjustor...absolutely nothing is salvageable. He told me his green Jimmy Cummins sweatshirt is melted to the hanger; nothing is useable. He sounded OK, just now coming out of the shock of it all. He says he'll be OK, thanks to his friends and family.

Please see if you have a shirt you can share with Danny. Thanks so much.

Debbie, thanks so much for putting this together for Danny. Our family has been race fans since the 50's and have seen many many race tracks. I know Danny appreciates it. If any of the older drivers and those those who don't race anymore have any those would be appreciated as well - as those can not be bought anymore. I know he had some of Don Klein's - the 500 and an anniversary one, some of the "old modifieds" (Dixon, Gundaker, Bo Smith and many others) and countless pictures.

Yes, he mentioned those exact shirts to me when we talked. He's lost so much that can never be replaced.

If you can't get to a track this weekend, send your shirts to...thanks so very much!!!
