Hadn't been to pevely in awhile saw the newer infield lights and thought it made it much better to see the cars across the track but when on the near side they were harder to see due to the shadow put on them from the lights in the infield. I noticed that none of the old straight away lights were on on either side was just curious if that's how it is now. My father in-law couldn't read the numbers and over heard other people talking about it so was just wondering if they forgot to turn lights on or they just leave them off.

Here is my take on it, while the base lights are nice, they need to use the outer lights to fill in. I talked to several drivers last night and each of them mentioned problems seeing going into the corners, specifically turn 3. Turn one isnt as bad, but to me all the entries and exits to the corners seem especially dark. And with the rutting that happened last night due to the weeks weather I couldnt imagine going into turn one not being able to see as well as I wanted too.
Pevely has always been one of the best lit tracks around, but I'm not sure they have the bugs worked out of the new ones yet. I see what they have done as an improvement however they need to finish getting it right. I'll be curious to see what the WoO drivers and crews have to say about it next weekend.

The new lights were installed for the bigger shows. ESPN and the WoO will be here next weekend. This was one of the major drivers to get the lights and I am sure as they continue to work with the lights, they will get the bugs worked out. I am guessing there will be some "rehearsal" work this week to make sure they are covered once ESPN arrives in town.

Yes, I also had a very hard time seeing into the turns, through the middle,
off the turns were about normal.
At least is can hear Big Mike in the pits!!! The audio system started off a bit
weak, then got better. I am betting the light problem will be corrected.
As fast as our cars are going we need to see clearly,even the ruts in the track!
