Lincoln's UMP Summer Nationals are now set for Monday, July 6th

The Monday after 4th of July weekend isn't exactly the greatest possible night to have a big show. But it's a night that's available, so we are going to wing it.

Do us a favor... when you get paid Friday, take $25 and hide it in your glove compartment. That way your racing stash is still there come Monday after the 4th weekend wears a hole in your wallet..

Also, we will work to roll through this program. We plan to start heat races at 7:00 which should give most people plenty of time to get to Lincoln. We consider Lincoln 30 miles from everywhere: Springfield, Decatur, Peoria and Bloomington. It's not to bad of a shot up the double-nickel from the St Louis area either. If B-mains and logistics go according to plan, we hope to run the Late Model feature first, Modifieds 2nd and Street Stocks 3rd. If you were at our Jacksonville or Quincy shows, I think you know that we will hustle through a program and not leave you sitting there till midnight to watch what you came to see. Our target for waiving the checkers on our Late Model feature is 9:30. Famous last words, I know... but that's our goal heading into this.

Hope you can squeeze a little time in your Monday to make a trip to Lincoln Speedway for what promises to be a great night of racing.

Oh... one other thing... Both Justin Allgaier and Kenny Wallace have both said they'll be there to support it. Thanks to both!

How does UMP go about awarding makeup or rain out dates for now infamous oh HECK tour. Both so far this year have gone to tracks run by the same group!

I'm purely guessing here...but, I would say it is up to the promoter to stick their neck on the line and take a date that is open. If they want to run a race and pay the purse, it is probably all theirs. My guess is that many promoters do not want a Monday date.

If you follow this group and the tracks the promote they are some of the best in the business! They are trying to add nights, having make up races, and do what ever they can to race! It's awesome to see! And they are very interactive with the fans and drivers and there input!

Not sure I can accurately answer the "why us" question, except for to possible things: 1. We asked and 2. The logistics worked out for the racers.

We made up our Sunday Quincy rainout the next night without a big need for travel the next day (Peoria followed Quincy). At Lincoln I don't think we could have raced the following night (tonight) because it was a travel day to Michigan. But next Monday it's not that far to Danville on Tuesday. So things just kind of worked out both times.

Like I said earlier, I can't say that a Monday - especially after a holiday - is the greatest night you could ask for... But it's worth a shot and hopefully we can land the ship close to right side up and have a great show. At this point, I'm not sure the day of the week matters as much as what the weather app on your phone says.

So...im eating the $35, because i probably wont make it back to quincy....that sucks, but i understand...thanks for the reply
