Lloyd Wood has announced that he will once again sit behind the wheel of the famed #81. A hiatus of nearly 30 years will come to an end when the grizzled veteran pilots his Barracuda inspired retro schemed Dodge Neon R/T in the Pro 4/ Factory Stock Division in 2010. A runner up finish in the Amateur Class at Macon Speedway at the end of the 2008 season gave the local legend the itch to return to driving. Known for his elephant like memory and a “don’t give an inch” style, Wood never took any prisoners. “He was an animal.” proclaims Marty Smith Sr., fondly remembering the man famous for knocking down the backstretch lights at Highland Speedway in a fiery airborne crash. Look for Lloyd and the #81x to be at Belle Claire Speedway every Friday night in 2010!
