Kreke has a pretty good chance at making the show. the top 2 fastest qualifiers that don't make it automatically get a provisional. so even if he has problems in the heat, he might make it.

Bad luck for Kreke........from the Dream Update Page.......

Brent, what an awsome job qualifying! You were flying in the heat also. We just knew you were making the show. Heck, I even started celebrating early.

Youll get them the next time! Now you know how to do it. Just keep the car from breaking because you know how to get there now!

kreke went backwards quick in his heat race. He got chewed up and spit out. Bad luck when Kreke was spun out by his self in turn one. He got plowed by a car under caution. The caution was out for about 10 seconds at least when some dumb azz come flying around and nailed Kreke.

Having car issues and spinning out on your own are two different things. Read the earlier post that talks about the car problem.

For Brent to get 7th quick in qualifying he was flying and ready to take on the feature!

The high groove was the preferred groove and Josh Richards got a great start on the outside. Dropping from 3rd to 4th on the start when the cars start side by side is not what I would label "went backwards quick". Here's how I remember it going down:

Lap 2: Josh Richards overtook Ray Cook.
Lap 3: Kreke eats up 3-4 car lengths on Ray Cook and pulls up to his back bumper.
Lap 4: Kreke started sliding backwards on the back stretch (probably the beginning of the end of Kreke's motor).
Lap 5: Kreke's motor let go with a big puff of smoke at the end of the front stretch. Kreke slowed between turns 1-2 and was hit square in the back bumper by the right side of the 64 car.

That's far from being chewed up and spit out. And if he "spun out by his self", he would've been hit somewhere other than the back bumper.
