Looney Continues New Winners At I-44 Speedway/New Point Leaders At The Top

Lebanon,Mo.-After 2 weeks of Rainouts,The high-banks of the Lebanon I-44 Speedway swung back into action as over 135 raceteams filled the pits.

In LateModel action,24 high-powered cars took the opening green with Dustin Mooneyham setting the early pace with Rusty Dukes in hot pursuit.The yellow would wave on lap 1 as Brandon McCormick and TJ Kuykendall got together in turn 3 and McCormick's night ended.On the restart,Mooneyham and Dukes continued there battle as Marshall,Mo driver Bryan Allison was making a charge from the middle of the pack with defending I-44 LateModel champion Brad Looney following as on lap 3,the yellow waved again as Danny Atkinson's motor went south taking him out of a top 10 run. On the restart,Mooneyham would find Looney making a strong run to the inside as this duo went to battle for 3 laps until lap 6 when Looney made the inside move in turn 4 to take control as Mooneyham and Dukes were fighting it out for second place.With the laps ticking away and Looney pulling away from the field,the battle became for 4th as Rookie Brandon Maggard,Darrell Mooneyham,Jason Meadors,and Larry Jones were fighting for position.On lap 14,the yellow waved as Danny Monroe stalled in turn 1 and Dukes retired with problems.All eyes were now on MARS regular Gary Stobla as he had totaled his primary car in a heat race incident and rolled out the back-up car starting 24th on the field was now in the top 10.On the restart,Looney pulled away as Mooneyham and Allison were stagging a great battle for the runner-up spot as Allison worked the low groove while Mooneyham worked up high.Points contender Dave Ware retired on lap 17,and Allison worked down low perfectly to keep in second place.As the checkered waved,Looney took his first I-44 Win of the season with Allison,Dustin Mooneyham,new points leader Brandon Maggard,Darrell Mooneyham completing the top 5 with Jason Meadors,Larry Jones,Stobla,Jared Harris,and Reid Millard completing the top 10.

In Modified action,Eric Lampe shot to the opening lead with Jason Russell,Rustin Miller,Eric Hudson,James Hartman and Jamie Ragland battling for position along with Danny Peterson as this battle had positions battling back and forth.Miway through the feature,Jason Russell's car would stall-out in turn 1 bringing out the yellow.On the restart,Lampe found the pack racing for second gaining ground as Hudson,Ragland,and Hartman had battled back and forth as the seconf pack of Peterson,Miller,and Doug Crider made a race behind them.On lap 18,the yellowed waved for debris as this closed up the pack.On the restart Lampe held the top spot as Hudson made a strong charge at the lead.Contender Ragland fell victim to a flat righ rear and returned at the end of the line.As thw white waved,Hudson grabbed the top of the track as leader Lampe stayed down low as Lampe captured his first win of the season followed closely by new point leader Hudson,James Hartman,Rustin Miller,and Veteran Danny Peterson.

In FactoryStock Action,Burl Woods took control early and never looked back in recording his first win of the season as point leader Micheal Maggard held of repeated challanges from Tim Brown to take the runner-up spot as Jordan Holloway and Larry Plant rounded out the top 5.

Point leader Larry Prewitt took the lead from Rick Brown on lap 4 and held off a mid race challange from defending champion Mike Joplin to record his third consecutive win this season.Following the lead duo were early leader Rick Brown,Tim Petty,and Brain Dorrell in the top 5.

New point leader KC Prettyman came out of a 5 car battle for the lead on lap 8 and held off a late race challange from Justin Foust in gathering his first win of the season in a wild night for the Bombers.The feature saw 6 different leader and a wild finish as the 4th and 5th place cars battling for position in the end finished back in the pack.Following winner Prettyman and Foust to the line were early leader Rodney Jones,Lonnie Henderson,and Richard Talley in the top 5.
Defending Pro-4 Champion Lonnie Muhlbauer grabbed the lead on the opening lap and never looked back in gathering the feature win.Following Muhlbauer were Ken Jones,Randy Galloway,Don Lacey,and Craig Burgess.

Regular Points action continues next Sat night as the gates open at 5 with hotlaps at 7 and racing at 7:30 Sharp
