You know we all recieve a rules book every year and the rules are in there. I like how they put you on the track to tear down. Keeps it on the up and up... It stinks being illegal more if you get caught :eek: :eek: LMAO!! We bought a cam last year from ( reputable dealer in Ill ) that was suppose to be Allied Legal and when they tore down it was not. Lost points. It stunk and we got over it. We did not in anyway feel we were getting picked on. I mean come on!!! How can you say they made someone mad so now they are illegal or that's what I read into it. :confused: And for the record I saw the Lowery group waiting patiently to speak with Don H after the tear downs not sure of the conversation at hand but there was no hollering no arms wailing no nothing. They are a Good Guys. But what can you say if you have an illegal part ??? And I like the tear downs reguardless...
 
I agree with dirtgirl, Ed and Buddy are good guys, they just got caught with their hand in the cookie jar, they'll both be ok.
 
They are not the first and WIll not be the last. Besides it's only cheating if you get caught. And I am sure there is not a car out there 100 percent legal. After it only takes 1 inch to be illegal :eek: :eek: :D
 
I got some info about that this morning. The rule says that you must run a stock ratio on the roller rockers. I guess owning your own junk yard pays off. Ed knew that a 1.6 rocker came stock on a corvette. So I guess it is legal now to run the 1.6 rockers not for sure if allied is going to let everyone run them or they are going to change the rule. I guess they are going to have to give Ed and Buddy there points back. I am glad to hear this I hope Ed would win the championship this year.

They May Have Found A Loop Hole With The Rockers We Will See. But, It Doesn't Change The Fact Their Intakes Were Worked On And Found Illegal Also. No Offense To The Lowery's. Hope They Get It Right And Don't Miss Any Racing.

I WOULDN'T DOUBT IF ALLIED WILL DO LIKE THEY DID WITH THE HEADS. THEY SPECIFIED NO VORTECHS EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE STOCK OEM. THEY WILL PROBABLY SPECIFY A RATIO WITH THE ROCKERS.
 
Well i dunno what to say other than they were streching the rules. Everyone i am sure does it someway or another. I guess everyone is always taking for granted that a small block chevy only came out with 1.5 rockers. But when they did come out with these rockers on the vettes then it is considered a stock OEM product and they should not be pentlized for it. Thats the thing with the allied rules book. There are way too many things that can be streched because of the wording. Give someone a inch and they will take a foot. Thats the way it goes. I didn't hear anything about there intakes so i can't comment on that one. This is all my opinion on this situation. But given this info i myself feel like they should not be banned of there points.

5. Stock type rocker arms, Standard ratio only or stock ratio, Stock style replacement roller rockers optional, Poly locks allowed, NO Stud Girdles.

Stock type rocker arm? I don't think they were.
Standard Ratio only or stock ratio? Which is it? What does Allied consider STANDARD?? 1.5, 1.6, are all standard aftermarket SBC ratios. 1.5 & 1.6 are stock SBC ratios. 1.6 BBC ratio. 1.7 is a stock Ford ratio. Claimed to running 1.6 ratio. I'd consider that a standard SBC ratio. 1.6 is a stock SBC ratio too.
Stock style replacement roller rockers optional? Everybody runs a roller rocker
Poly locks allowed? Have to use them with roller rockers.
NO studgirdles? they don't use them.

Were they legal?? I'd say YES.
Were they cheating? NO the Lowery's don't cheat. It's just their interpetation of the rules.
What's your interpetation? ;)

:) The Lowery boys are not the only ones running those rockers.The Lowerys talk to them about these rockers last year they were fine then .All year they were FINE .Now their not a bit funny I say.
