Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series 13th Annual Indiana Icebreaker at Brownstown Speedway Set for March

CORONA, CA (March 16, 2010) - For the fifth consecutive year the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanctioned the $10,000 to win 13th Annual Indiana Icebreaker on Saturday, March 27th at the Brownstown (IN) Speedway. For the first time in the event's history it will be taped by SPEED TV and shown on a date and time to be announced in the future.

There will be a complete show for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series as there will be Red Buck Cigar Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and the 50-lap $10,000 to win/$700 to start Indiana Icebreaker.

The Indiana Icebreaker at Brownstown Speedway is again part of the Sunoco Race Fuels Road to Wheatland in 2010 as 20 drivers with perfect attendance will be eligible for the $700 winners circle money once again. So far this season 23 drivers have perfect attendance as the series has had six different winners in the first eight events so far this year.

Defending series champion, Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN leads the championship point's standings heading to Brownstown. Bloomquist has won three events already this year on the ultra-competitive tour after winning only once a year ago on his way to his seventh national touring title in his career.

Don O'Neal of Martinsville, IN a two-time series runner-up in points is second to Bloomquist in the current point's standings as he tries to gain ground at a track he began his Late Model racing career on in the early 90's. Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA coming off of a second place finish at Cherokee in the last Lucas Oil series event is third in points followed by a tie between Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC and Chris Wall of Holden, LA who are tied four fourth in points.

Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN who finished second in last year's championship standings to Bloomquist is sixth coming into the Indiana Icebreaker with Dan Schlieper of Sullivan, WI, Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, IL, 4-time series champion, Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and Richmond, IN's Steve Casebolt rounds out the top ten in points.

Pearson comes into the event as the defending race winner; in fact Pearson has won the last two Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events at Brownstown which includes last September's Jackson 100 the track's signature event.

The schedule of events for March 27th at Brownstown Speedway will see the gates open at 12:00 Noon with a driver's autograph session from 3-4:00 PM, driver's meeting at 4:15 PM followed directly by hot laps at 4:45 PM. For more information on the track you can go to www.brownstownspeedway.com.

The tire rule for the Indiana Icebreaker at Brownstown will be as follows; American Racer SD44, SD48 and MD56 and Hoosier 1300, 1350, 1600, LM20 and LM40. There will be no Crate 55 tires allowed to run.
