Officials of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series have announced that the Hoosier and American Racer 70 compound will be added to the allowed limited compounds that are legal to run on Sunday, April 9th at the Series Event scheduled for the Cherokee Super Speedway in Gaffney, SC. The first ever visit by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to the Lennie Buff promoted facility will see a complete show for the Series with Comp Cams Time Trials, PBM Performance Products Heat Races, Mason Racin' Rebel Shock Dyno and Penske Shocks B-Mains followed by the 50 Lap $10,000 to win and $700 to start A-Main event.
The tire rule for the 2006 season for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the brands and compounds allowed are: the Hoosier LM20, 1300, LM40, 1600 and the D55 (shoulder plated), the American Racer SD44 and MD56 and the Goodyear G40 and G50, with the 70 Compound in Hoosier and American Racer available for use at this event only.
At Cherokee on Sunday, the Pit Gates will open at 3 PM with the Grandstand Gates opening at 4 PM. Hot Laps will start at approximately 6:15 PM with Time Trials slated for 6:45 PM. General Admission tickets are priced at $25 with Pit Admission at $35. Kids 10 and under are admitted for free to the Grandstand Area.
