Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Headlines "The Night the Stars Come Out" at K-C Raceway on July 9th

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series makes a return engagement to the Buckeye State of Ohio this Saturday Night, July 9 as dirt slingin', side by side action comes to Jim Nier's K-C Raceway in Chillicothe, OH for the annual "The Night the Stars Come Out" special event. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be competing in a full race program featuring Oval Craft Racing Aluminum Designs Time Trials, VP Fuels Makin' Power Heat Races, Mason Racin' Rebel Shock Dyno and PPM Racing Products B-Mains and the 50-Lap A-Main Event paying $7,000 to win. Also on the race card will be 410 sprints and Hobby Stocks.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series made their first appearance of the season in the state of Ohio on July 3rd before a standing room crowd at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, OH. This week the series heads to the new home of the "Dirt Track World Championship Race" which will be held in October at K-C Raceway. This Saturday Night's Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will give race teams a chance to try their chances in a special event with hopes of spearheading their efforts come October to make the DTWC.



After 17 events on the 2005 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Tour, Don O'Neal continues to lead the way with 6 event wins and the Series points lead. Earl Pearson, Jr. has moved into second place in the points standings after Muskingum County with 2005 Dream Winner, Matt Miller now in third. Donnie Moran and Scott James round out the top five of the national standings. Scott James leads Tim Dohm and Brady Smith in the chase for the 2005 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series "Rookie of the Year" standings. There have been 11 different winners so far in '05 with over 360 different drivers competing with the series this season.



Gates will open at K-C Raceway this Saturday Night, July 9 at 4 pm with racing at 7:30 pm.
