Lucas Oil NOW600 Series Adds New Sponsor, Tow/Appearance Money, Loyalty Bonus and Enhanced Points Fund in 2019

Inside Line Promotions - DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (Nov. 5, 2018) - The Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass wrapped up the 2018 season by not only enjoying the two closest points battles in series history, but also announcing a major step forward beginning in 2019.

Lucas Oil Products is returning as the primary sponsor and Tel-Star Technologies has signed on as the presenting sponsor along with being the title sponsor of all NOW600 regional series. The series will now be known as the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Tel-Star Technologies.

In other news, tow/appearance money is being introduced to the series next season. Drivers who are at 100 percent attendance and in the top three in the championship standings will receive $30 in tow/appearance money at each event.

There will also be a loyalty bonus for drivers who compete in 100 percent of all NOW600 national shows. A $5 bonus per race will be added to their point fund and there will be select events that will add extra bonus money.

To top it off a $15,000 points fund has been secured for the three premier NOW600 national divisions. The Stock Non-Wing and Winged 'A' Class national champion will each be awarded $2,000 and the Restricted 'A' Class national champion will be given $1,000.

The announcement comes on the heels of a stout 2018 season. Daniel Shaffer won the Stock Non-Wing national championship, Daison Pursley claimed the Winged 'A' Class national title by only two points and Ryder Laplante earned the Restricted 'A' Class national championship by only one point in the closest points finish in series history. It marked their first national title in each division.

Frank Flud led the Stock Non-Wing division with four feature victories. Trey Robb and Shaffer each earned a trio of wins with Chris Cochran, Hank Davis, Pursley and Jase Randolph producing a pair of trips to Victory Lane. Chris Andrews, Jerry McGinnis, Chase Randall, Morgan Roan, Colby Stubblefield and Jason Tyer were also victorious.

Flud posted a series-best eight triumphs in the Winged 'A' Class division. Pursley scored three wins with Harley Hollan and Gage Robb each winning twice. The single-race winners were Chase Brewer, Steven Curbow, Davis, Riley Goodno, Layden Pearson, Randall, Brady Ross, Joey Starnes, Ryan Timms and Jim Woods.

Laplante and Shawn Mahaffey were tied for the most Restricted 'A' Class victories with six apiece. Timms earned five wins with Garth Kasiner and Rees Moran each netting two triumphs. Chase Brown, Kale Drake and Caleb Rouser all won once.
