WHEATLAND, MO - After several weeks of discussion, officials at the new Lucas Oil Speedway are very close to publishing the speedways 2006 schedule of events. Weekly racing at the newly refurbished 3/8 mile dirt facility will feature the Modified class, Factory Stock and Pure Stock classes. The speedway will also introduce two new classes to the area as a Figure 8 class and a new B-Mod class will round out the Saturday night programs. Although the late model class will not be raced weekly, late model specials will be featured many times during the 2006 racing season. Along with late model specials, Lucas Oil Speedway officials are finalizing details for events that will include winged and non-winged touring 410 sprint cars, A touring midget series, an open modified touring series, a legend car series and a national legend car event. Speedway officials are also working to finalize dates with the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League, a nationally known tractor pull series and one of the nation’s fastest growing late model shows, the Lucas Oil Late Model Series . A full schedule of events will be posted on the speedways web site at www.lucasoilspeedway.com as soon as it is complete. Lucas Oil Speedway plans a mid May opening.

Amenities for race fans at the new facility will include a slick surface go-kart rental track, racecar simulators at the video game and arcade center and a complete playground for children. The Grandstand area will also feature a world class concession stand with weekly food specials, a complete souvenir stand and a full service bar. A non- alcohol bleacher section is also planned. Bleacher style seating will include seat backs. Seats in the top six rows or the reserved section will be stadium style chairs. New Musco lights will provide TV quality lighting on the speedway and a high tech Bose speaker system will provide quality sound for all events. Plans also include state of the art scoring towers with a high resolution video commercial and message board. VIP suites of various sizes will also be available for rent on a nightly and season long basis. For the campers among you, there will be a full service camp ground located around our beautiful five acre lake; wooded camping sites are also in the plans.

Amenities for competitors will include an asphalt and concrete pit area, a spacious staging area, an off track work area and an e-z access, drive on scale with a state of the art three lane tech barn. A separate bleacher section is provided for those who are watching races from the pits. Also located in the pits will be a fuel station, a car wash, and a full service parts store and fabrication shop.
