Lucas Oil and Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports To Participate in the Nextel
Prelude To The Dream and Trade Expo
Corona, CA (June1, 2005)- Lucas Oil is excited to announce their
involvement with the famous Eldora Speedway in Rossburg Ohio for the “Nextel
Prelude To The Dream” and trade expo show Wednesday June 8th –11th.
Lucas Oil will participate in the trade expo show over the four-day event
with a display booth for fans to purchase the latest Lucas Oil products
and receive literature about the Lucas Oil Company. The Lucas Oil
Dunn-Benson Ford #1 racecar will also be on display in the trade expo area
for fans and racers to view up close the 2004 Stacker 2 Xtreme DirtCar
Series Championship car and driver Earl Pearson Jr.
Not only will Lucas Oil participate in the trade expo at Eldora
Speedway but also the Lucas Oil Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports team car will be
used in the Nextel Prelude event on Wednesday night June 8th. Bobby
Labonte is tentatively scheduled to drive the #1 Lucas Oil Dunn-Benson
Ford Motorsports car in the event competing against several other NASCAR
Nextel Cup stars including Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick,
Dave Blaney, Kenny Schrader, Kyle Petty, Kenny Wallace, Jeff Green, Mike
Wallace and Red Farmer. Danny Lasoski a veteran World of Outlaw sprint
car driver and Ron Capps a veteran NHRA Drag Racer will also be
competing in the Nextel Prelude. The NASCAR Nextel Prelude drivers will use
super late model cars and run a couple of hot lap sessions then qualify
for their starting position for their respective heat races. Those
finishing positions will then be used for placement in the Nextel finale, as
the “stars” will be racing against each other for bragging rights and
another chapter of Eldora’s illustrated history is created. Speed
Channel cameras will be on location for this event doing “Live”updates for
their NASCAR Nation show between 7-10pm on Wednesday June 8th. The
Outdoor Channel cameras will also be on hand to tape the entire event for
broadcast at a later date.
On Friday and Saturday June 10-11th the Lucas Oil Dunn-Benson Ford
Motorsports team and driver Earl Pearson Jr. will attempt to qualify for
the 11th annual Dirt Late Model Dream paying $100,000 to the winner of
the 100-lap feature event. The huge event is expected to draw most of the
top dirt late model drivers from all over the country. Last years event
drew 144 drivers trying to make the 24-car feature event. To learn more
